OpenVPN Connect

Zero-Trust VPN Client App

Published by: OpenVPN

Description

OpenVPN Connect is the official OpenVPN client app developed by OpenVPN Inc., the creators of the OpenVPN® protocol. Designed for use with OpenVPN’s zero-trust business VPN solutions, this app enables secure remote access to internal networks, cloud resources, and private applications. A zero-trust VPN is a virtual private network that requires continuous identity and device verification for every access request, adhering to the principle of 'never trust, always verify,' regardless of the user's location.

3.4.0 broke ALL of my connections

watrob on

Australia

While I have fixed it now, OpenVPN 3.4.0 invalidated ALL NordVPN profiles (new & old), notifying that previously accepted options within the profile were no longer valid. On top of that, with my ALL my personal server connections, 3.4.0 refused to connect because of invalid certificates. No warning or notification from OpenVPN. VERY poor customer service!

Doesn’t work in Australia. The USA based apps recognise your phone number from your phone and physical location.

Solid App

I have been using OpenVPN Server/Client software for about 5 years now. I use it to access my home network from the outside as I have lots of little servers and projects on the go at any one time. The app has always been easy to set-up and rock solid in stability, even when using patchy cellular data. I recently bought a consumer ASUS Wireless Router and discovered (to my delight) that it supports running an OpenVPN Server tight out of the box! I’m glad to see OpenVPN being made available and more accessible to a broader range of users with varying experience. Keep up the great work!
