Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread is simply one of the best daily devotionals that exists!!!!

My family and I have relied on this devotional for many, many years to start our day. We gather together everyday and mirror the devotional from my iPhone to our smart TV screen. In landscape mode, the words are large enough and every one of us is able to see the display and read along. However, since the recent major redesign/update, the app no longer rotate to landscape mode—it stays permanently in portrait mode, which is too tiny and unreadable on our TV screen. This has been very frustrating for my family. We have patiently waited several months to see if this would be fixed but it has not. We are starting to look for an alternative devotional at this point.

Start everyday with ODB, love the app! Would be nice if they developed an app for Discovery Series.

The counter makes me feel good by seeing daily progress, but it always resets and never works! What gives developers ?

I love reading this app. I only have one complaint, the days are no longer counting. I loved seeing my daily streak, but that no longer works.

I enjoy the devotions. However, the images aren’t nearly as pretty as they use to be. The current artwork is very dreary and depressing.

It’s wonderful content, but the days of the streak will keep resetting on it’s own. You may have 45 days and never miss one. Then you go into the app and it’s reset you back to 1 again! Otherwise, being frustrated by that, I love the content!

Being forced to register with name, email, etc for a site I’ve enjoyed for years without doing so is ridiculous. This morning I could not bypass a forced registration page. I don’t want constant emails or upgrade offers. I just want to read portions of the Bible each day. It should be that simple. Awful.

I’m deleting the app today. They are forcing you to create an account to read the daily devotional. No thanks. I’ll use the booklet or web page and will be deleting the app.

Update2: The daily reading streak counter was fixed in the May 10, 2024 update. The former functionality of marking the specific daily devotionals previously read would be more useful. Update1: Now the daily reading streak, which replaced the tracking of the specific devotionals opened for reading, is also broken. Please bring back the tracking/marking of which specific daily devotional have been opened for reading! I’m been reading Our Daily Bread for decades. I switched to the app a few years back and liked how the archives tracked the daily devotionals I had read. I was able to easily identify and catch up on the days I had missed. I miss feature. It was there before, but gone with an update. Our Daily Bread is a wonderful ministry. Please restore the tracking of which days have been read.
