Reading PAPER VERSIONS of ODB is so easy, almost mindless. I look for the current date, flip to that page & begin reading. With this iOS app, too much familiarity with the application is required up front. No, we’re NOT ALL application developers, intimately familiar with the application structure, layout & design! Instead, I want the application to automatically open to the current date, allowing me to simply read the related text. If I have free time, want additional bible study help, praise & prayer support, then I expect related paths to be easy & conspicuous. No, I do not wish to invest efforts into learning the app! Instead, make the features of the application so accessible & beneficial that it’s almost impossible for them to be overlooked! Redesign the interface using the first principle in training & education: the KISS Philosophy = “Keep It Simple, Stupid!”
Really like it
I will continue to use the app as I began with the print edition decades ago. but y’all have a lot more issues than many apps. I am regularly logged out without notice. I also find it not consistent in using built in scripture references; it often sends me to Bible Gateway. Finally, I don’t find the spiritual depth of the devotion the same as it once was.
It’s an excellent supplement to my daily time with the Bible
I’m talking about the podcast not the app since I just started using the app tonight. I downloaded the app because the podcast changed language two or three times. I prefer the podcast because it’s easier to play while I’m in the car. I reported it to Apple, but I have not heard any fixes occurring and I’ve offloaded the podcast and followed it again and it still didn’t work.
The app keeps logging out when using FB login, and attempts to log back on via FB are futile. Multiple successful attempts don't get you into the ODB app. I’ve lost my tracking since I couldn't log in or see my notes. I will create a separate account and start over, but I wanted to report an issue.
The design and layout of this app is finally where I’ve hoped it would get. I love that it’s not mimicking social media and doesn’t have the addicting counter that shows how many days you’ve used the app. I’ve always loved the bookmark feature and the accessibility of this app has always been great. The Bible portion no longer takes you to an external site. Yay! Great work. Thanks for keeping this Christ centered.
I’ve read and listened to ODB for years. It’s a very effeminate publication now. Even the male readers in the audio production speak like they are moms talking to 5 year old children. Messages are very love centered with little adventure or deep thinking. Very emblematic of the shallow emotionalized western church right now unfortunately.
I love Daily Bread app but for some reason today when I opened the app I had to log in and after I logged in my streak is at day 1 and my longest streak is 185 days, I used this app everyday and I don’t know how this happened. Both my current and longest streaks should be the same. Please help
