OurFamilyWizard Co Reviews
Doesn’t work
I downloaded this app twice and it’s not working properly. I tapped on the Learn more button and waited and nothing happened. I can’t create an account or do anything with this app. I saw a note about an upcoming update but I guess it’s not finished yet. Hoping the app works after the update.
Decent but could be a lot better
I’ve been using OFW for several years now and it’s been good for documenting/emails. I don’t need the call feature. What I do get frustrated on is the expenses are very limited. You can add any details or notes. There’s no other options besides %’s, no notes, and it’s set up to pay each other not show payments made to 3rd party. For example, school lunches were due - I wanted to show what I paid and what days, and what he owed. The amounts don’t break down to %s and I can’t add it because I don’t want it showing he owes me since I’m not paying it. Most of our expenses are like this.. If someone rejects there is no note section for a reason why. You have to send a message instead but now it breaks up the transaction into two different sections and it doesn’t link them together so it’s kind of messy.
The calendar has gotten better but it would be nice if it would pop up errors as to why you can’t submit a new event/schedule instead of leaving the button greyed out and making us do the guesswork. Also if you go in to change or add a schedule it doesn’t let you adjust the times from the existing schedule so like if it ended on the 13th and you needed to extend it a couple of days you have to add a new start time which doesn’t always overlap with what you had so then you have little hour breaks on your schedule.
Messages - it would be nice to have some editing abilities like Bold or Underline if we’re trying to make a list. If someone is using that to be aggressive then it’s on them and shows up on their emails - stop limiting the rest of us.

The service is great, but the app is too expensive to be court ordered. I feel like it’s gouging.
Low value for money
This app does the basics and has record tracking for coordination, esp when you are dealing with a high-conflict co-parent. However, there are some deficiencies that I think could be addressed, esp given the price:
- integration with your calendars (such as iOS, google, etc). You are forced to go to the app to look at the calendar, but having it linked would make life easier
- it is hard to track what changes that the other parent made. You have to go through several steps and discover what they are doing
- despite claims of having a tone meter, I still get hostile messages. So if your co-parent harasses you, they still will.
- changes to schedules don’t need consent or approval. So it is can just be chaotic
- doesn’t open attachments, such as pdfs, well in the app
- lack of ability to create tables and spreadsheets, in the journal entry to track different issues (ie call times and frequency with kids on FaceTime)
- no landscape view. Would be helpful when using an iPad
Great app
Great app for family communication. Highly recommend as it keeps track of information very well. Everything is documented and easily admissible based on fact. It’s a life saver.
A third of the time the app opens to a white screen…
… and didn’t load. And I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve missed the opportunity to talk with my kids while they’ve been with their mother and the app hasn’t shown notifications.
Avoid unless you have no choice
I've been using this app well over a year now and it's absolutely horrible. It's clunky, outdated, and has extremely limited functionality for each item. While tech-support is pretty good, it's very apparent when you call they have no intention of building a better app.
The calendar function is an absolute joke. Extremely limited functionality with setting times and in no way do they make it easy to use like using Google or iCal. There's also no import/export functionality so I find myself maintaining three different calendars for personal, work, and child.
The Messages section will also test your patience. You can't even do something as simple as adjust the text size or pinch zoom. There's no auto correct either. Also, it doesn't nest messages like Gmail does. If you send a message to your ex and she replies two or three times to the same message before you have a chance to respond, it will create several new message chains thoroughly confusing the conversation. This also makes it difficult to keep track of if you need to use for court.
The journal feature is absolutely useless in my opinion. Haven't used it once for anything.
The expenses section is useful but keep in mind if you have a certain split percentage for each of you and then that percentage changes after a settlement or whatever, there's no way to delete or gray out the old split. You'll find yourself in a situation like me where your ex keeps using the old percentage and then demands the difference paid separately. That's not an intuitive way to keep track of expenses.
The calls feature I haven't used but unless you're willing to spend a ton of money, I can't see anyone really using this. At the basic plan just keeping track of how many times someone called doesn't really help you much when it's the content of the phone call that's important. Way overpriced IMO.
The info bank section is a bit expensive but I do actually like being able to keep track of all information about our child. Thumbs up on that. One feature it does lack is the ability to post important photos or PDFs like a vaccination card, birth certificate, etc in a standalone tab. There is a "MyFiles" tab but it's basically a list of every file exchange between both parents from their messages and if you post your child's important document there it'll get lost in the mix.
Lastly, as many other reviews complain about, apparently at some point you may run out of space on their server. I haven't experienced this yet but ot
Total Joke
This is a complete waste of money. There is an attorney at the end of this thing getting kickback, believe me. It’s basically just email. Nobody is going to pay their attorney to log in and sift through their communications. Total joke!
Need fix the bug
I'm trying to save my child clothing size in the Family Vitals section. doesn't work even after reboot. Please fix the bug. The app is good
Accessing All Messages
Hey developers! It would be extremely helpful if you were able to access “All Messages” from the home page on this app. Currently you sign on and have a 3 step process to get to “All Messages” with three clicks in separate areas of your screen. The All Messages page is the most important place for me to go and it is currently inconvenient and frustrating to get there. Your consideration for an update on this is appreciated!
