Brilliant app

Compassionate magpie on

This app I think is absolutely brilliant for the little they are charging for what you get, and I have tried a few courses on this topic and they have been good but cost a lot more. This is laid out simply but effectively. The owner has always replied back quickly on any questions I have had, really pleased.

Include long Covid

lenmarch23 on

United Kingdom

Think it would be good to include long Covid in the list. Many of the examples used the word “pain” in relation to pains in your shoulder or knee, but skimmed over issues such as Chronic Fatigue. Good app but also incredibly expensive for what it is.

Great app but one bug bear

Love this app and how it explains chronic pain and the challenges too are really good. The only issue I have is that the notifications do not work. I’ve set up reminders for challenges to be notified daily and they don’t come up on my IPhone and IPad. I have notifications enabled in settings on both devices. Any help would be great 😊😊

Mixed thoughts

Elements are helpful, especially mindfulness and pain biology, but as with many pain management programmes there is a tendency to oversimplify the many complexities of chronic pain. Not all persistent pain occurs in the absence of harm/damage, and pushing through pain is not always harmless. Obviously this is a key principle for primary pain conditions such as fibromyalgia where the only problem is with pain perception, but for pain occurring secondary to tissue damage this is not always an appropriate strategy. Please make sure you confirm with your doctor that a program like this is suitable for you before you start. Additionally the pain coach can come across as a little patronising at times - my partner (who does not have pain) had a very visceral dislike of her and felt she came across as bullying at times. Personally I felt she seemed nice and well meaning but definitely patronising. Source: doctor (anaesthetist aiming to subspecialise in pain) and chronic pain patient (congenital hip dysplasia)

Life changing!

I’ve tried everything for my chronic back pain. This approach is the only thing that’s worked!!! 6 years of back pain, healed after 4 months. My eternal thanks and gratitude.

Amazing app, 5stars before the update !!

Brilliant app which essentially cured my debilitating arm problems last year, forever indebted! Thank you so much. Only quibble is just downloaded it again and the old structure and layout was soooo much simpler, cleaner and more reassuring!!! Is there any way to get it back whilst keeping the new section information (eg physio exs)? The transcripts and lack of video were amazing, also the quotes were easy to read and readers weren’t bombarded by 5million options😂 Sorry!....aware that so much work has gone into this and genuinely grateful for the app and its help but the old version -to me- functioned immeasurably better. Its simplicity made it stand out from other apps such as curable. Please let me know if there’s a way I can access the old version....

Would give zero stars if possible

Nothing new or exciting, this isn’t new science at all I learnt about the psychological experience of pain and the body brain connection in my training 18 years ago. Patronising, no real substance to it. Basically they are capitalising on desperate people using a bastardised version of CBT with some buzz words. Then they try and make you pay for it, along with the fact that some of their ‘facts’ are false and have been tapered to fit their agenda: cashing in on the mindfulness and wellbeing trend. This app is not professional help, please go see some with real qualifications who won’t just fob you off with poorly worded and Non-evidenced based promised aimed purely for your money.

Haemachromatosis

Snelmessss on

United Kingdom

Please please could you add in Haemachromatosis as a diagnosis? It never appears yet is the most common genetic disease. I have opened the app and found straight away that it’s missing as usual. Thanks!

Astounding!!

I got this for my husband, who’s been in terrible pain for over a year since his stem cell surgery, has been walking on crutches and was on the brink of a hip replacement because of it. Fast forward THREE DAYS after downloading this app and he’s walking pain free. Thank you so much! This is just incredible!! Everyone should know about this!!

Life-changing app

san.ss on

I had no idea that we can have so much control/influence on how we experience pain. Thank you Pathways for literally changing my life. The pain program is comprehensive. There’s a separate area with what seems like hundreds of meditations. I’m just getting started on those. A lot of free content but it’s well worth paying to upgrade. Pretty much the best investment I’ve made for my health.
