Philips HearLink 2 Reviews
Very undependable
When it works, it’s okay. But it connects so inconsistently that I can’t count on being able to use it. For watching videos, I like to use my iPad, which I can sometimes connect to. But then I have to go through the connect process multiple times to reconnect to my iPhone. I’ve been trying to reconnect to my phone for several days. Now I can’t connect to my iPad either. The instructions for connecting to either device are poor. Sure wish there was an alternative!
1/8/2025 - I’ve now had the hearing aids for about 6 months or so. The aids work well, but the Hear Link 2 app continues to be useless. I have paired and unpaired multiple times. I’ve reloaded the app multiple times. Still the app only connects to my right hearing aid.
Thankfully, the hearing aid app built into the iPhone works consistently and is very easy to access (just press the power button on the phone 3 times in rapid succession.
The “find my” hearing aids feature does not work at all.
Stopped working
Why make an app for someone who is already stressed about hearing loss and then gets more frustrated with your app?
Useless app
iPhone settings more reliable. No need for app at all unless it improves hugely. Slow, clunky and useless.
Sound
Since IOS update 18.2 I haven’t been able to play audiobooks though the app. Before the update I was able to listen to audiobooks through my hearing aids. Hope you come up with an update soon.
Connectivity issues
Since the last update hearing aids continually disconnect. Frustrating considering how much you pay for the hearing aids. Hopefully the next update will correct the problem otherwise next time I have to buy hearing aids I’ll look at other brands.
New Hearing aids
I am so disappointed! I just paid over $1500 for new hearing aids as I lost one. They connected on the way home in the car but now that I am home will not connect to the app! I never once had this problem with my previous pair! I am going to return them and pay more for a different brand that worksI I am disappointed in Costco as they always have wonderful products.
App Journal
I’ve only had my Philips 5030 hearing aids a little over a month. I’ve become familiar with your latest app and find it useful. While it connects within a few seconds to my hearing aids, the “Journal” recording of my use rarely updates. Maybe 1 day of data out of 5 days. Oh, I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro.
Blu Tooth Issues
I have had several instances where my hearing aids either one or both becomes disconnected to Bluetooth. I’m pretty but have been unable to resolve it on my own and have to go to Costco. Currently unable to connect and have to go to my provider very inconvenient.
Horrible!
This app is useless! It won’t connect to one of my heating aids for days. Then, after quitting, putting them both in the carver and restarting, it connects. For a few hours. Then when I open the app to adjust, suddenly it won’t connect to either hearing aid. This isn’t a one time issue, it happens over and over. I’ve even deleted and reloaded the app, still it can’t seem to stay connected. Yesterday I was listening to an audio book. The left side was extremely loud, I opened the app and had to pull the volume on that one all the way down. I then muted it, guess, didn’t mute! Audiobook was still playing through the hearing aids. I hate this app!
They just don’t care.
I thought with the name like Phillips, I could count on the hardware and software being superior products. Unfortunately, I was wrong and I’m disappointed again with another expensive pair of hearing aids. Since I have a symmetry, I need to use the app to adjust the volume. I can’t use the buttons on the hearing aids so I have to be able to rely on the app to do that. Unfortunately, I never know when the hearing aids are gonna pair with the app. Even if the hearing aid show paired in the iPhone settings, the app still doesn’t pair with the hearing aids.
In addition, I do not understand why the user cannot have more control over the settings of the hearing aids. Why does an audiologist have to take care of that. Yes you offer a remote capability, but you have to make an appointment, and they won’t make an adjustments unless you go in and have another hearing test a big waste of time because I just had one at my doctors office and I have a print out of those results. The base middle and treble controls are totally inadequate. The sound of spectrum is far more complicated than that and I should be able to make more specific adjustments myself.
So Phillips, fix the app, so it will pair consistently and while you’re at it in bed, a real equalizer function so I can adjust the hearing aid for optimum performance to MY hearing condition.
