Exactly the title + i don’t like how the update looks and it feels unnecessary

Update unintuitive

mamgoklm on

New Zealand

I’ve been using the new update for weeks now. I know everyone hates change and we normally adjust, but this is one of the most unintuitive updates from such an incredibly large company, that it still takes so much focus to get anywhere on the app. Wish I could go back to the pre update version.

Apple got so clever they’re useless.

I literally can’t use this app anymore. In the hope of looking clever Apple have added so many gimmick nonsense features I have no use for and removed basic/obvious functionality. In its current state I have no use for it at all. Yet even though I can’t use it they somehow expect me to be impressed?

new update

written a review, I don’t believe in complimenting apps or telling them oh you’re so amazing! when, really I just wanna use my app and leave, HOWEVER that’s not the case here, I CANNOT use this app let alone leave, this new ios 18 photos app, it’s not even bad it’s just horrible? filthy? disgusting? it’s like some geek designed it for his own use and left out the thought of the end users, I mean who was in your head when you were designing? were you mindful at all about the 2.2 billion active apple users? which consists of as young as 5 to as old as 100 year olds, do you think the youngest or the eldest would be able to navigate anywhere in this photos app? I, who used to design complex websites and used to help others design, CANNOT get myself to navigate on this app without getting puzzled, imagine someone who is new, would such a user interface be friendly? change it back because shoving everything on one page with a mind boggling design ISN’T lovely.

Terrible update, change it back

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old photos before the update. Why would you change it to make it HARDER for users? How is this an upgrade?? It’s clear no one likes it, change it back. It feels so chaotic and unorganised, I don’t know what function is where, seriously disappointed

Recent

I like to sortmyphotos into albums to makeup easier to find them. How can I get the recent album to only show photos that aren’t in other albums?

why do you insist on making iPhones so annoying to use? Why would you change it to THAT? Nobody wants this or likes it

Where is everything?

s0apywater on

So the new update… putting everything on one page cool. Not where the hell is thw recently deleted button or the hidden album button?!! Im either blind or yall just got rid of it. Google says the same thing from the original good clean ui but this one nothing…

Needs a dedicated camera roll.

loanburger on

New Zealand

This is absolutely the worst photo app I've ever used! I hate it. A basic feature like having a dedicated camera folder is now missing where newly taken photos automatically get added to. I also don't want to see the big mess of a feed where you show all photos. It's stupid. Add a option to hide it. Having albums are great but then that's all I want to see - my camera folder and the albums. Currently there is no way to see which photos don't belong to a album. Your app is stupid.

The new ui is extremely clunky and hard to use, the automatic folders are useless and have no practical reason and it’s annoying trying to even open the app when you’re bombarded with them all
