Pikaslice

Slicer for 3D printers

Published by: Marc Haemmerle

Description

Introducing Pikaslice, a comprehensive slicing solution for both Resin/MSLA and Filament/FFF 3D printers on the mobile platform. Effortlessly import your 3D models, adjust their orientation and layout, apply manual or automatic supports, examine your scene for islands, and export your work to an extensive range of supported Resin/MSLA and Filament/FFF 3D printers.
While the use of an Apple Pencil is highly recommended, it is not mandatory. To transfer the exported files to a thumb drive (and subsequently to your printer), you'll need an adapter, such as USB-C to USB-A, depending on your specific iPad and thumb drive model.
Please note that this app is compatible with a variety of resin MSLA, DLP, and FFF/Filament 3D printers (see the list within the app).

I’ve downloaded Pikaslice under the assumption that it supports Bambu files and printers but I’m not sure how to add my P1S

Ignore the haters! Most of the bad reviews are because people are upset that they have to pay someone for their hard work lol. After trying all the different slicers on the App Store this one is on par with many of the best and the price is right in line also. (I’ll never understand why people think they should get stuff for free). The software works great and has a ton of features compared to most apple App Store slicers.

Seemed decent until it required a subscription

I liked the idea of being able to slice on my iPad, but when I tried to export, it said I needed a subscription. So it’s useless unless you’re willing to pay.

Another sub? Yes! Worth it? Yes!

Originally I left a different review, but after understanding a few things and trying out the app in depth, I thought I should change it. So, yes you have to pay to save and export but for me, who’s a 95% iPad user, this app is one more thing I can do from anywhere. Prep my files then send them to print when I get home. Less time at my desk seems worth it. Now about the app: it’s very easy to use with really great tools. The interface is compact and it has nice customization features.

This app is awesome. This is the best slicer app on a phone. I 100% recommend this app. I had some trouble on this app where I couldn’t find my 3-D printer, but I just played around with the app and I finally fixed my issue.

No way to merge STL

Bummer, finally have slicing software for iPad, but no way to simply merge items you want to print. Even my chitubox free did that.

Only certain printers

So far this app is really great and this app is easy to use. But apparently after this recent update, my ELEGOO Neptune 3 pro won’t show up in the machine selection. I was able to select it in the past, and it worked perfectly and now it just disappeared. But I can find all the other ELEGOO 3-D printers, but my Neptune 3 pro won’t show up. If you guys could add this back in, that would be awesome.

Need help getting started

Spiripan on

Can’t figure out how to use this. It is very likely user error because I am new to the technology. I don’t have a computer and have used a slicer only a few times on my sons computer. I would love to be able to interact with his 3d printer without having to use my sons computer. I just need a beginner guide to get me started. On my sons slicer all I have to do is upload files. I can’t get any files to upload into this. It is probably because I don;t know how to set it up to get to that stage.

Some features seem to be bugged

Kanrapocalypse on

I really like the idea of this app! However, the key feature I need for success is not working. I have a mesh with a bunch of little pieces and I keep trying to separate the pieces using the separate shells into objects function, but they still only allow me to transform them together. I tried the toggle edit mode to see if that’s the setting I needed to move them independently, but whenever I use it it either crashes the app immediately, or when I click on any of the separated parts they vanish and there’s not even an undo function to bring them back so I have to reupload the mesh. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I’m really not sure and there’s no tutorials online talking about this specific issue
