It does not show alot of stuff about the app and really expensive for nothing
This app is completely useless. It’s clear why they don’t offer a free or monthly subscription—once users try it, they likely wouldn’t renew. Instead, they lock you into a 1-year subscription, relying on marketing and questionable reviews to attract new customers. The plant identification system is inaccurate about 60% of the time, and the diagnoses are mostly generic advice like lack of light, water, or spider mites. Overall, don’t waste your money on this app.
Help
I have been using Planta for a good while now & overall ❤️ the concept of having an app keep me on track w/ taking care of my plants as my collection grew. I’ve shared with friends how much I love the Planta app! However, over the time Ive been using it, I have definitely lost some plants & I believe there’s a likelihood that it’s bcz of the bugs in planta - like not updating schedules when changes are made by the app user. If I decide to skip an action such as watering cz it appears my plant doesn’t need to be watered yet, I’m no longer confident that the app actually recalculates when the plant will need to be watered or updates based on my change. Sometimes it feels like I’m watering & fertilizing so often that it’s just not making sense & I think that’s due to that issue. The other big concern I have with planta is that when I have had a sick plant, I found the Dr. Plants advice to be so contradictory that I was just left not knowing what the heck to do. It’s just not helpful to be told 2 different issues on the opposite end of the spectrum are causing your plant to be sick ( I.e. over/under watering for example). Every time I go through the process of using Dr. Planta I come away feeling more confused than when I started but frankly, I often find the same to be true of Internet advice about plants. I recently moved a plant from soil to water & Planta definitely isn’t reading that, bcz it continues to offer a watering schedule. Overall, I would say that when I chose to pay for the app, I wanted something that would do a lot of the thinking for me, and I could trust that it was giving me the proper advice. I now think that expectation was unrealistic.
Edit: Only get it if you can’t remember to water plants, but even then it wasn’t getting them right after all anyways. My solution was a soil moisture meter! It’s a good app! But I don’t see much more added value in paying. Also to add, their recommendations with the ‘curing plants’ can sometimes be: you are either overwatering or under watering this plant. So, not the greatest.
I absolutely love this app! I have been using it ever since my newfound love for plants 6+ months ago. I love that I can create the different places in my home & add my plants with progress updates & photos to look back on. *I LOVE IT* Love the care tips for most of the plants & that you can edit their watering schedule as well.. Constructive Criticism: I wish the app had a bit more tips & tricks for new plant lovers. I wish it would send me cute reminders or sayings throughout the day (ex: your plants miss you, insert cute quote here)
I downloaded this app cause I’m trying to keep myself on better watering schedules for my plants as my collection is ever growing. Since downloading, I’ve lost 2 plants to overwatering. I’ve had them for years with no issues but with my depression seeping back in I figured the help keeping on track with them would be nice. I almost lost my beloved monstera but after sacrificing some leaves and going back to her usual once every week and a half/2 week schedule she’s back to glowing health. I’d say just take the watering advice with a grain of salt. It wants me to water my pothos plants that sit in my window more frequently but following their schedule I ended up with more yellow leaves and decided to switch back to just watering all my plants on my own schedule. They don’t mind missing a few days of watering but the overwatering is an issue neither I nor they can overlook.
- I love having a list of plants to check on for watering each day, as well as a record of when I last watered. I can't imagine having this many plants without it - the watering predictions have been relatively accurate for most of my plants - I love having an organized collection of photos and records for each plant Missing features - no orchid pot in pot type. It dries much faster than other plastic pots - every time you water "early" you get a warning about over watering. I wish I could turn these off. The worst part is it still reminds you even if you have snoozed watering once or multiple times and are watering days later than planta originally recommended - I wish there was a an option in between a custom schedule and the planta recommendation. I like how the planta recommendations adjust for time of year, but I have some plants that consistently need to be watered sooner than the schedule suggests. I wish we could keep monthly adjustments, but indicate "a little sooner" or "a little later" - the light options are pretty lacking. Since full sun is 8+ hours of light, my unobstructed south facing windows that get 6 hours of direct midday sun and my obstructed East facing window that gets 1 hour of morning sun both count as "partial sun" to the app, even though they are extremely different - it would be nice if we could set indoor temperatures. In the summer my house was quite warm, which I suspect is why my plants needed more frequent watering than planta expected
For some reason, I will take care of all watering tasks and then the very next day it will tell me that all the plants I watered are a day late. It also does not refresh the water schedule for when you have missed a day. For example if it wants you to water a plant every 5 days, and you water it on say day 7 it will want you to water it 3 days later instead of adding an additional 2 days. When I first got the app it was very good about telling me when I had to water but ever since i’ve added in my almost 40 plants it is just bugging out. I had such high hopes, since it was recommended by a friend who also has a bunch of plants. What a let down.
Me encanta la aplicación es una lástima que no puedas pagar para ver los demás servicios
