JUST LOST A BUNCH OF WORK. I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU WHYYY
Came across mention of this app on a site rightfully complaining about how iOS Notes inexplicably removed the basic functionality of saving a file to Cryptomator. This solves that. I can now use my device do things with my writings and files that I want to, and in fact bought an iPad to supposedly be able to do. Even if Apple has decided that I no longer need to do them.
Opening a text file from the Files app opens the file into Pretext fine. However, the only option (Close) on the menu bar does nothing when it should presumably terminate the app. This is a huge workflow impact for me as I modify VPN profiles often which can total over 30 in a given day. Please fix this ASAP! Many thanks!
Changed how I keep simple notes between jobs. The file/cloud integration works with all my services so it’s seamless between all major providers through the Files app on iOS. It literally “just works”. Paid the $0.99 just to throw the developers a bone. Keep up the good work.
(Wish I could give only half a star): Yes, this is the free version, & honestly all I wanted was an app that writes pure text w/ no HTML/other convoluted markup. Yes, it allows BOLD, italics, & other mods, but who really needs that in plain-jane pure text? A nice feature would be the ability to search a fairly large saved file, but, you can NOT do that w/ this app: oh no, that would add waayyy too much convenience! Anyone know of a plain-jane app that writes pure text AND allows the ability to search? TIA!
Careful, this app does not present the ios conflict resolution screen when there is an icloud sync conflict. To replicate, do the following: Create a file.txt and open on two ios devices. - On ios device 1, turn off wifi. - On both devices write which ios device it is into the text file (for instance ‘device 1’ and ‘device 2’ - go to homescreen on both devices - turn wifi back on on device 1 - open the file on device 2. It now shows the freshly transferred content from device 1, and the content from device 2 is gone! - when you open ia writer, it tells that there is a sync conflict on the file.
I have a plain text file with an unusual extension (sql) imported via Airdrop. The app doesn't let me open it. Also, there is no contact address provided where I could have asked for support.
Not sure what the problem is but most of my newly created markdown files stored on Google drive are grayed out, so I can’t open and edit them. Worth mentioning I am also using my laptop to edit those files, but they always seem to be unopenable by this app :( Otherwise this app is exactly what I was looking for!!! Ditching Google docs :)
Minimalist text editor. Free. Exactly what I needed. Easily edit text documents from any storage account linked in the Files app. Somebody complained you can’t print. But you can - on share sheet options choose Preview as Markdown HTML, once preview is rendered then do share again, print should be there.
The app keeps crashing, not compatible with iOS 15! Be aware! I’d recommend removing it from App Store and devices!
