Pump with Elvie FAQ

Yes, Pump with Elvie is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Pump with Elvie legit?
🤔 The Pump with Elvie app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Have to close out of the app MULTIPLE times in order for it to connect to my pump. It will also lose connection mid pump when i haven’t moved and the pump is so close to my phone. It also repeatedly will say the bottle is full and stop
pumping when the bottle isn’t even close to being full. It will do this the entirety of the rest of the time i’m pumping and I have to keep pressing play.
Love my Elvie stride, the app is “eh”
I was really excited to track my pumping/supply over time, learn patterns, and work toward boosting supply to keep my little one nourished. Everything is up to date but the Insights stopped working in May, and say it requires at least 4 weeks of data (there is 6 months of sessions in my log). So the app? Eh. Love the Stride, it has worked really well for me.
Worth it
Love my Elvie! Having free hands while pumping has been a game changer !
Works better than my plug in
I used a plug in pump but I use this one so much more. This one seems to get more milk, is portable, and doesn’t rip my skin up. Super happy a friend recommended it.
App keeps crashing
Loved the app at first but it started crashing every time I tried to connect my Elvie pump. It’s so frustrating that I can’t m even get the app to stay open any longer.
Good except volume gauge
Easy to control but volume tracker is always way off.
Worst pump ever!
Dear mamas, we going through a lot and don’t need any additional disappointment in our life, so move on and buy something else. This pump is leaking all the time. The app is glitched and connection always lost. Support is unreachable and irresponsible. I did invest $500 in the headache. I can’t use it outside of my house due to the leakage. Free pump covered by my insurance is a 100 times better! Disappointed.
Inconsistent & Unreliable App & Pump
After 5 months of trying to use the Elvie, I can honestly say I tried to get this to work well. The pumps are very hit or miss - sometimes they work well and they work, it’s great! However, I can’t count how many times I’ve been sitting around thinking it’s workin only to pull out the pumps to find that it only worked on one side or not at all. If you are in public and trying to be discreet, it’s not reasonable to peek inside and see if milk is swishing around. The app SHOULD be able to solve this problem, however, the feature that tells you the volume you pumped is unreliable- sometimes saying you’ve pumped a volume you must certainly haven’t as the thing is practically empty. This is more than a mild annoyance - when you are on the brink of engorgement you need to pump right away! When I contacted customer service, I received very generic responses, almost as though they were copy and pasted from some script. Thankfully I used my FSA funds for this, I would’ve been even more irritated had I put this on my registry or purchased with my own post-tax dollars.
I really do love it
I would just like to see some edits to the UI. The amount pumped should be able to be typed in. It would be nice for my pump to be found without me having to ask to connect every time.
Timer not accurate
I hate that the timer isn’t accurate. I always pump for 30 minutes, switching into stimulation mode at 10 and 20 minutes. I usually look at the time when I start pumping to know when to go back into the app to switch modes and sometimes it’ll be off by up to 3 minutes! I’m not sure how it gets so off sometimes, but my “30 minute pump” will sometimes actually end up being closer to 35-36 minutes a lot of the time. Not a huge deal, just annoying.
