Ravenscroft 275 Piano Reviews

Great. Brilliant sound.

Sounds great. Just need a inside recorder, including a metronome. Compared to pc one, it's good. PHJ

CONTROLS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO USE

jimandmaria on

This app use virtual control knobs. They are very very difficult to adjust up or down, and a couple refuse to go up much or down much. I have tried so many times and ways, and have been patient, but the developer has been inconsiderate enough to make this app extremely difficult to use. Other apps uses sliding controls, but i guess the esthetics of the look the developer wanted to achieve outweighed making it convenient for the paying user to actually use the app.

Decent sound on available hardware, but better sample resolution not available on fastest ipad

I’ve been using 275 for about 4-5 years on my 2nd gen ipad pro. It sounds decent at 1024 samples, but it really starts to shine at 2048 and above. However, on my 2nd gen iPad pro, the latency at 2048 (42.7ms) and 4096 (85.3ms) was unacceptable. Recently, I upgraded to a ipad pro 6th gen, which should be 4-6 times faster than the 2nd gen, but the latency times are exactly the same. This is disappointing since Ravenscroft is the primary instrument I use with my midi keyboard.

Sounds good, but unusable

A metallic high pitched sustain release sample over (at least) middle two octaves. Would like a refund, but prefer they take my money and hire beta testers. Purchased around cyber Monday 2023. iPad Pro 4th edition iOS 15.6

So awesome but needs a major update for GarageBand

genzumi on

This app is my go to for a specific piano sound I really enjoy when I’m using GarageBand but now it crashes a lot and every time I try to export the audio recorded using this app from GarageBand, there is no sound. Empty. I will still give it five stars but please I hope you see this and try to update it ASAP, since it hasn’t been updated in 11 month now 🥴

Does the job, sounds great!

I am not a pianist yet, I am a student. I bought this mostly so I could practice hand exercises, scales, and chords on my ipad, while I am traveling and away from my real piano. I tried many apps and this one has the best sound quality and adjustable on screen keyboard size. It allows me to replicate the keyboard size closest to a real keyboard with slight adjustments for the range I need to play for the given exercise or scale, while confined to the dimensions of the 12.9 inch iPad screen. It does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it does what I need it to do.

It’s worth it

In my opinion this is as a real sounding a piano as anyone could ever expect from an app based source. It puts the Korg module to shame. The only thing lacking is the ability to half pedal. No app supports half paddling so I imagine it’s something to do with midi protocols. But man, I really do miss half peddling.

Love this piano.

The is such a great sounding piano. It’s has become my daily driver when I travel. This is the piano I use. Excellent sound. However, I wish you could midi map things. Other than that, I highly recommend.

I absolutely love it

Beautiful piano sound and nicely adjustable iPad keyboard, but some small bugs

Kvergottini on

I own a few other iPad piano apps. This is abosuletly the best sounding piano. Also, I use them all with the app keyboard that displays on the screen. This is the only one that lets me resize the keyboard incrementally enough and accurately enough to mimick a real keyboard octave size so my finger spacing is the same as it would be on a real piano. Update: I have been using this app with the built in keyboard for a few weeks now and I have discovered a few bugs. This piano is so realistic that a key sticks every now and then. Yip, you read me right. Every so often a key becomes inactive, as if it is stuck, like an old piano key. Also if you play too much too fast, the whole sound freezes every now and then. It is as if the buffer gets full and has to have a few extra seconds to clear. This was an expensive app to purchase, so I hope the developers will work out these bugs. If and when they do, I will update this review.
