Start recording. Double-tap to pause or single-tap to stop. Uploads to Dropbox automatically. It's that simple.
• Universal app, running equally well on iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad.
• MP3 audio files sound great while saving bandwidth and Dropbox storage.
• Accessible with VoiceOver for the visually impaired.
Imagine if your digital camera stopped and asked you to name each photo after you took it or popped up a file system for you to choose where to save it. This is how most voice recorders work on iOS; always getting in your way.
RecUp is streamlined to record and upload voice memos to Dropbox; there’s no need to name files or choose where to send them. If you need more control, RecUp might not be right for you.

Very Good app, but needs update for Online meeting recording
App is very good for easy, quick and accurate recording. The app needs an update so Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet meetings can be recorded through a wireless Bluetooth headset (for example using Apple Air Pods). The last update was 3 years ago and before the pandemic where online meetings are now a major part of everyone’s life. However, the existing version is still recommended.
Could be used as a “wiretap”
Start the app. Put your phone on the table face down. Leave the room without taking your phone. Your phone continues to record.
Later you’ll know what was said when you left the room.
Note: I’m pretty sure that recording people without their knowledge or a disclaimer is illegal in most places. But I’m no lawyer.
Fantastic audio app
This app is very easy to use. It results in high-quality audio, and very clear file names. Very easy to find what I have recorded. I love the launch and record feature as well.
Works For Transcription
I have tried this with the Dragon NaturallySpeaking transcription agent listening on the dropbox folder. It works pretty well – transcription accuracy (in my experience) is more acccurate than the CopyTalk transcription service and saves about $60 monthly fees, since I license Dragon NaturallySpeaking anyways. when I'm away from my office, it's nice to be able to record my thoughts, and they are transcribed by the time I get back to my office.
I would like in the settings options to be able to select a cloud service other than dropbox.
What would be extremely valuable as if this were to work in CarPlay. I currently have no way to record my thoughts while I'm driving, other than to phone myself and leave a voicemail which is rather cumbersome.
Best of its kind
Record starts right when the app launches and stops+upload when you exit.
Fast, simple and efficient.
Perfect for capturing thoughts or important information even in critical situations.
Love it !
Simple and effective
I was looking for a simple app to record song ideas as quickly as possible and have them stored somewhere I can easily find them and not lose them. This is the app. I can wake up from a dead sleep and just launch the app with one finger, record and go back to sleep. And no iTunes sync to get my songs (which previously lost songs). Simple and beautiful app.
Great app
Does one thing very well.
Best Reminder App
I've been using this app for a long time. It's the simplest to use. I use it while driving to do brain dumps of to-do items. I've written a Automator workflow which moves the recordings to my desktop so I don't forget them. It works wonderfully.
I recommend this app to anyone who wants a very easy to use voice recording app.
What happened!
Don't work properly!
Don't trust for anything important.
Well over an hour (and counting) to upload a 20 minute interview. No option to playback the material on your phone, or to store locally. You're really dependent on the app not to screw up (which it may be doing right now. I'll let you know if I get fired.)
