Description

Start recording. Double-tap to pause or single-tap to stop. Uploads to Dropbox automatically. It's that simple.
• Universal app, running equally well on iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad.
• MP3 audio files sound great while saving bandwidth and Dropbox storage.
• Accessible with VoiceOver for the visually impaired.
Imagine if your digital camera stopped and asked you to name each photo after you took it or popped up a file system for you to choose where to save it. This is how most voice recorders work on iOS; always getting in your way.
RecUp is streamlined to record and upload voice memos to Dropbox; there’s no need to name files or choose where to send them. If you need more control, RecUp might not be right for you.

With the name change you would think it will work with other platforms, but no. I moved over to Google Drive and will have to find a new app to record directly, so bye bye for now, but once this gets Google drive suppoort, I'll be back ☺️

I do not normally write product reviews but am moved to do so in this case. This is the single most useful app I have ever downloaded. Here is the reason why: You may not realise this, but people lie. They sometimes do not tell the truth. Sometimes they misremember facts. The thing is, once 'professionals' write something down, however ludicrous and untrue, it becomes fact. You know this is crazy, I know this is crazy and yet it still happens. Here is where this app is so useful. Even if it is a means by which you can prove to yourself that you are not wrong, going mad or deluded. Simply set it going, place it in a pocket (preferably not one which has anyhting else in it and not inside a pocket made of a noisy fabric) and forget about it. Once you finish the recording, it does its thing and uploads to the selected folder extremely reliably. If you have no need to refer to it, it can just sit there. If you have need of proving what was said at a given meeting, appointment or interaction then you can access it as required. This has proved incredibly important to me and I feel it necessary to pass on the following advice: Record, record, record. The recording can sit there unheard if you do not need it but if you do need to prove that you did or did not say a particular thing, then you have DNA-grade evidence at hand. It's only paranoia if its not justified: this is peace of mind. For the price it is invaluable. One tweak please: When the format was m4a, the filename included the start time of the recording which was really useful for tracking purposes. Now that the format is mp3 the filename includes the end time, which whilst not a catastrophe, I would certainly find it easier to track recordings if it were the start time which was included. Many thanks.

Not enough options

Stores memos straight into options but no way of renaming voice memo. Gives generic number as file name, not good for recording lots of takes in one go!

Awful

Why can't I label my recording before it goes it Dropbox if you are out and make numbers of recordings you have then go into Dropbox to label... Do not buy

Simple as it promises to be :)

It says it does two things and it does them pretty well: records audio and uploads it to Dropbox. Simple as that… and no extra features, no complication, no babla – straight to the point!

Essential

I'm a busy songwriter and music producer. I'm always recording song ideas and notes on the go. Foolishly I expected they would be safe in the default Voice Memo app, but that doesn't sync over iCloud and is generally not too great. With this app, all my melodies and phone demos are safe in my DropBox, and I can review them when I get to the studio. No messy iTunes syncing of Voice Memos! Love it. Essential to my workflow. New update very nice too.

Simple and clean app

Just what I was after in a dictation app.

No iPhone 5 version? Still???

Seems like this would be the easiest app in the world to update for iPhone 5 screens. Alas, no. Also looks horrendous with iOS 6 icon on my home screen. Emailed the dev who is receptive and helpful but I don't understand why it takes so long to update it ...
