I shouldn’t have to delete the app to get it to work properly again. Literally did everything to troubleshoot it up to that point. Worked as soon as reinstall was completed.
Contrary to what a lot of the reviews are saying, I actually don’t hate the app, the interface, and I actually enjoy a lot of its features. However, one feature advertised is downloading books for off-line reading. Not usually something I would need to utilize, but in one particular week I had 20 hours of flying, and not once did the off-line reading work. I tried several things between flights to try and get it to work but was unsuccessful. This was especially frustrating considering I was saving my reading portions specifically for those flights.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it open my textbooks.
Almost every time I try to open one of my books, it just shows a white screen. I thought this was an eReader app, not a blank screen app.
Book won’t load half the time, it’s so frustrating!!
This app is terrible. Why is it so difficult just to highlight? Fix the highlighting feature. I’d recommend any other app for textbooks.
How can you mess up an e-reader? I don’t know, but the developers of this app have found a way. Unbelievable long download times no matter your internet speed. App loads with missing textbooks, and sometimes just doesn’t want to load the textbooks you open. E-reader is laggy, skips around, and formatting loads incorrectly. Desktop experience is miles better than this. Don’t use this if you don’t have too.
When you open the app the only option is to log in, there is no account creation. This makes it impossible to use for anyone using the app for the first time without an account.
Unfortunately schools now have e-books and red shelf is always loading and lagging. I use this app on my iPad and everytime i try to highlight one sentence it decides to highlight the whole paragraph. When i search for a key word it loads for minutes on minutes and nothing shows up when i know for a fact those key words are in the book. Overall, please do better as some of us arent able to study as effectively because of apps like RedShelf
