Description

Remote Shutter is an application that requires two devices. It works on both macOS and iOS.
With Remote Shutter one of your devices is the camera remote or camera monitor, and the other device would be set up wherever you would like to take a picture as the camera. Using the connected phone you can take pictures from up to 50 feet away.
Remote Shutter makes it easy to take pictures of things at weird angles and that would put you in an uncomfortable position. Take Remote Shutter for a spin for free!
Features:
- Take pictures from up to 50ft away
- Toggle the camera orientation
- Use the camera flash
- Adjustable camera timer
HOW TO USE
When you first open the app the phone will start searching for devices to connect with. The camera connects with a P2P connection to the other device. Once the devices are connected you will have to choose which device is the camera and which phone is the remote.
1. Connect your devices
2. Choose which role the device has (camera or remote)
3. Set up & take pictures!

Doesn’t Work

Installed it on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and on my iPad. Couldn’t get it to work.

Connectivity issues at the wrong time!!!!

I normally love this app and the functionality it gives me as a one man photog show. Unfortunately, it completely zoinked out on the red carpet last weekend and I ended up taking selfies instead of the action shots I had planned. I tried for about 30 minutes before the carpet opened but to no avail. There I was with o connectivity and no shots…I don’t know what happened nor do I know of any workarounds should it happen again. I guess this is the part where I wait to hear from the developers…

Shady permissions requirement

Lotion Soup on

United States

Why is this app requiring me to allow access to part or all of my existing photo library in addition to the microphone and camera on BOTH devices, despite the fact that other apps have an option in the same menu to add photos only? If this is exclusively for the purpose of adding photos to your library as the permissions prompt implies, why is the app forcing users to consent to allow more access than that, when other apps apparently have the option to request that specifically? Not to mention, only paid users can even record video, so it's suspicious that you're requiring microphone access for your free users. No thanks.

No zoom or tap focus?

Interesting app that works well. I just wish there was a way to zoom and pick focus points. Maybe a future update???

Decent app. Only supports one lens

This app works close to expected but I’d be more inclined to buy ad-free if it had support for use of the other lenses (wide angle & telephoto).

I felt scammed

Super complicated asked me to pay 4.99 then to share on two apple devices and never worked. I want to get my 4.99 refund pls

A little buggy

Falk This Nonsense on

United States

Pictures come through really clear, but the app drops the connection between devices randomly. The shutter device will also freeze randomly, while the camera device is still functioning. When either of these glitches occur, both apps have to be restarted & then relinked.

Best free remote!

MAMAY8 on

Best app of it’s kind which is free. But don’t have zoom functionality :(

Not worth it

Diego Ink on

United States

So… first you have to buy it twice because you need two iOS devices, which is unfair on itself, but also is lacking tons of BASIC features. I need to be able to zoom in and out when taking video. This feature is not available, which makes this app completely obsolete for me. Wish I could have my money back…

July-31-2021 not working

PhotoPostCards on

United States

iPhone 10 S, iPad Pro, both running 14.7.X, neither phone nor iPad can find the other device, Wi-Fi is up and running both devices are on the local network [would prefer Bluetooth], simple not working.
