Remote Shutter is an application that requires two devices. It works on both macOS and iOS.
With Remote Shutter one of your devices is the camera remote or camera monitor, and the other device would be set up wherever you would like to take a picture as the camera. Using the connected phone you can take pictures from up to 50 feet away.
Remote Shutter makes it easy to take pictures of things at weird angles and that would put you in an uncomfortable position. Take Remote Shutter for a spin for free!
Features:
- Take pictures from up to 50ft away
- Toggle the camera orientation
- Use the camera flash
- Adjustable camera timer
HOW TO USE
When you first open the app the phone will start searching for devices to connect with. The camera connects with a P2P connection to the other device. Once the devices are connected you will have to choose which device is the camera and which phone is the remote.
1. Connect your devices
2. Choose which role the device has (camera or remote)
3. Set up & take pictures!

Goes in a huff if it can't use the microphone
Getting bombarded by permissions requests is not a good first-launch experience. The reason the App Store makes you ask for permission is that the user is supposed to be able to say "no" without you throwing a strop and punishing them for it. "No microphone" should mean "no audio recording", not a big black screen saying "you said no so now I won't work".

Excellent
Used for pole aerial photography from iPhone to iPad. Pity you can’t choose lenses but hey it’s quick and simple to use, reliable and works anywhere. What’s not to like ?
It certainly works
The app works as intended but it needs some work. key features like pinch to zoom is missing along with tap to focus, a lot of my pictures were out of focus. It is doesn’t appear to be taking full resolution images because a lot of them came out grainy. it’s a great app and does what it says just needs some polishing.
Works a treat
Firstly this works. Not the most elegant solution but it does not need a lot of bells and whistles.
You need to remember to:
1) install on both devices
2) set screen lock to ‘Never’ on both devices while you are using it
Took about two minutes to work it out.
Doesn't work on iPhone 11 pro
App can not find remote shutter
It works
It certainly works, which is good, and the iOS device acting as the remote control shows you what the other iOS device is "seeing". But it seems a bit temperamental - sometimes losing the connection, then you've got to go back and assign roles again. Perhaps there's some BlueTooth interference in my house...
