RouteThis Helps FAQ
Is RouteThis Helps free?
Yes, RouteThis Helps is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is RouteThis Helps legit?
⚠️ The RouteThis Helps app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I was asked to use this app to diagnose a problem with a Phillips smart bulb. They came back to me and said there were too many WiFi networks competing for channels in the house. Three phones and a laptop can’t detect any other WiFi networks at all, so how does this app which is running on my phone claim to detect so many?
In light of the fact I can’t see the results, and no other devices on my network are having problems, I have to go with the majority here and say this app doesn’t work.
Innacurate
Have false readings, I had speed checked by IT provider. Neato using unstable network as excuse for inability to download software when I have very fast optical fiber video downloads
Load of rubbish
Was directed to use this app when one of the several devices on my security network stopped responding. It rated my network as “poor” which was a surprise as all devices had worked well for months.
I downloaded several other similar apps and each rated my network as “excellent” I await feedback from my security equipment supplier but suspect this will just be an exercise on shifting blame. We shall see.
A Teflon shoulder app for tech support
Was asked to download this app to aid diagnosis for troublesome smart lamp not fully pairing to their mobile app. Much like other reviews tech support said problem was with my poor 2.4 WI-FI signal on my UniFi APs.
Funny thing was that my network was seeing the device, I could ping the device and once booted Home Assistant could see and control the device. Luckily I’m not relying on the smart device manufacturers app.
Probably nothing wrong with this app just their customers.
Waste of Time
All this does is blame the router internet connection that wasn’t the problem I had good connection & it offer no other fixes.
Now deleted App
Questionable App
This app just feels like a way for tech support teams to shift the blame from their faulty goods to the customer.
After working perfectly for several months my light panels failed to re-pair with their app after being unplugged for just a few hours whilst making changes to my office.
When everything was pointing towards a faulty controller, tech support finally used this app to diagnose the problem and of course blamed my router/wifi settings, yet my router hadn’t moved or been disconnected and nothing had changed with my router/wifi settings. Everything else on my smart network continued to function normally when plugged back in except the light panels, which as I stated, had worked previously.
No feedback is given to the customer regarding what data is collected. At the very least, the data log should automatically be sent to the customer first via the app so that they can decide if they want to share it with support.
Rubbish
OK, this app is basically to blame your network for the poor performance of a device. Measured down 144mbs/ up 30mbs and classed the network as ‘moderate’. Wi-Fi and synch were full signal. Suggests the network is very busy and I should close all streaming devices! Really? Besides the fact I was only trying to find out via Blink why all thre external cameras I bought and installed a few days ago have appalling, blurred night vision?
No Customer Feedback
I assume this is a network monitoring tool that collects broadband upload / download information and also assesses the local network for other connected devices. Then sends this “information” to 3rd parties via the code.
At the end of the scan it gave me my broadband speeds and told me I’ve got a gaming computer connected to the network and that’s about it.. I assume much more is collected, but nothing is disclosed.
Personally I’m not happy that none of this collected network information is provided back to the home user at all. There are data protection considerations for what is uploaded under GDPR and DPA.
Absolute scam
Now they are watching us through our Blink camera.I can see the videos they’ve made accidentally.
Poor User Experience
There is no way of seeing exactly what data is collected and submitted by this app, which is simply not excusable.
