Got banned for no reason tried appealing as I couldn’t understand why

This is no doubt in my mind that finding RoyalRoad is one of the better things to have happened to me. I’ve been reading on the website for almost 10 years now and my never had an issue. The app is only an improvement for me. It makes it much easier to track favourites, read laters, and following - changing my reading experience for the better. I’m able to comment and edit much more reliably too. My reputation levels have spiked considerably. The one thing I would like is for the forums to be more accessible. It’s an aspect of the website / app I’ve still never used because I’m still clueless. The app is a great opportunity to reformulate and push the social aspect. Will forever be a 5/5

Love the app, they fixed some button placements to stop nesting the fiction and library buttons which is nice. Works just as good if not better than the website, with the one flaw being links redirect to the website always (even from within app linking to a fiction)

Banner ads can’t be muted

Potential but the ads are terrible.

The apps design and frameworkpretty good. It has a better ui than the website for the follow/read later/liked and the search function with the tags is better. The access the reading history is also rather useful when keeping up to date with multiple stories at once. Also the ability to download chapters with premium so you can read them without wifi is a godsend. However the ads make it inferior to the website. You either choose banner ads that flicker the whole time with bright colours (also a few fake imitation ads imitating other content). Annoying but bearable. (This stays at the top of your screen). However, now to make it worse they play unmutable audio (unless you want to listen to nothing while reading). The entire time you are in the app. The alternative is a usually 30 second ad between chapters which given the length of chapters in a lot of stories makes it feel like more ads than watching cable. Then when you compare it to the website where the ads are only at the top of the page, and the majority of the time user based ads about stories that you may be interested in instead of random gambling/scam ads. The choice is clear.

ads are way too distracting in their current state

The ads being permanently glued to the bottom of the screen is a dealbreaker, they're just way too distracting and ruin the reading experience. On the website, I'm able to scroll past them, so they don't constantly need to be taking space away from the text.

Not as good as the website

Where are the font and text size settings? Whilst I understand the need for ads, constant on screen ads are distracting and just ruin the whole experience. Also, the data collection feels very draconian. Why do you need to collect that much stuff?

Finally...

Look, the web browser is fine, but this is what was needed to make reading on my Ipad and phone feel like I’m engaging with these stories on my kindle. Thank you and looking forward to new features

Royal road is an excellent app, fully recommend. I’ve been using the website for a long time now but will be swapping to the app.
