SBI Secure OTP

Do Not Use this app This app is sending out SMS to a discontinued number when registering. I talked to SBI to talk about it. I’m told that this app is now discontinued!!

I echo the sentiments voiced by another customer in the review. I am a UK resident and thought an app would be handy to generate OTP than relying on the network whilst in India. However, the app has a serious issue with registration and I am stuck with no OTP as SBI has stopped sending OTPs to the registered mobile number. The customer service at my branch has no clue to resolve this. Apparently, I am supposed to inactivate the secure OTP linked to my account via the app, but God help you with registration which is a nightmare. I warn everyone not to download this app or register for this service. I still have no resolution!!!

Minus 5 stars. As per many other reviews this app does not help NRIs and may cause more problems to those like me who have stopped receiving SMS OTPs (six months as of April 2022). To register your account with this App what do you need? Yes - an OTP which never arrives! The dangerous bit maybe that registering then disconnects your online banking from sending you SMS OTPs. I am now locked out of online banking with SBI as an OTP is required for the mandatory change of password - which you get no warning about! I tried to complain to Mr Modi - but guess what - he requires an OTP to send him a complaint about SBI. Invest in India as an NRI?

Nonsensical process, unclear instructions

I got tired . It does not work at all. Can I get previous version which worked. It worked well before for uk numbers. But I think the version upgrade was not good. Now it asks me to register again and it simply is not going through. SBI needs to do more to make it work.

WARNING! I changed from SMS OTP to this app so that I could use the app instead of switching SIM cards in my phone to review the OTP which is linked to my Indian phone number. Once I went through the absurdly torturous registration and authentication process, I stopped receiving SMS OPT but the app didn’t provide me with OTP either. So… currently locked out of my SBI account.

It was working well before. But does not work for me after the app update. The registration process is broken.

Simply I dont understand. All of a sudden I stopped receiving any OTPS to my UK number . This app sends the long decrypted code as a message . But after sending back the SMS it doesn’t send back the OTP to register .

Shi**tiest app ever. Whoever has the IT contract is a dumb. If you do know the job, then don't act too smart. Read about how OTP works and implement it. Can't wait for SBI privatization

The app was working fine till the last update. Recent update deleted the profile it seems and is now asking for re-registration. Multiple sms’es sent but doesn’t do anything after enter the profile password. Imagine an abroad customer who needs to send multiple international sms’es (getting charged each time) to find out that it wont work and to try over again. Already tired 5times, is SBI making money from these SMS’es now, i wonder..
