Shapr3D CAD modeling

I will say right now, I am not a CAD guru by any means. What experience I have had with CAD packages is that unless its your job and your immersed in it most days then I find it hard to pick up and sustain. But, as an occasional, but at that time, a demanding user, this is second to none. It’s intuitive, it has endless tutorials, allows you to 3d model …. Then … you can render and make your work look awesome, but then …. You can produce detail working drawings too ! It really is a lovely software to learn, I have gotten on so well with this. I use a Mac, and now use an IPad Pro with ease ….. yet I was apprehensive about using an IPad ….. it really is a credit to this company, they have focussed totally on end user ease and use ! Superb, worth every penny …..

This app is incredible. I just think they have the pricing wrong. I enjoy paying for apps and supporting companies that make great products like this. I happily paid for Procreate as a one off payment. I happily pay £50 a year for Apple’s Logic. However, I just can’t justify the subscription cost when there are alternatives that, though aren’t as slick, work well enough for my needs. I mean SketchUp web app does a pretty decent job on the iPad and that is free. Lower the price and it’s 5 stars easily.

Great application ease of use etc just great, but £300 for the year is just too much for a hobby 3D printer. All I want is round shapes lol, but it will cost a fortune. Would be 5star but the price is ridiculous.

I have never been able to think in 3D, and my drawing was pretty bad. This app is a revelation. Simple designs can be made in just a few minutes by almost anyone, and 3D printed a short time later as prototype or even real solution. Easy to render good images of your ideas too with the Visualisation tool. Export to other file formats is excellent so you can send to most manufacturing companies from high end to low end. The new history-based parametric modelling looks incredible giving additional flexibility to go back to an earlier part of the design, make a few changes and have that propagate through. I use it on Mac and iPad with Pencil. The latter is the best (though a larger iPad is helpful due to the number of tools etc). I’m looking forward to the VisionPro version! Compared to Solidworks or Fusion360 this has a much lower learning curve - with some great video resources out there - highly recommended to spend a couple of hours viewing some of these. I’d also like to point out the GREAT support. I’ve only had a couple of questions but these have been answered in less than a couple of hours with positive responses. I pay more for this app than any other, though by other standards not a lot. But it’s simply outstanding and getting better every release.

I love this app. I really do. It does exactly what I need and want. I’ve played with the basic version for a while and tried the trial of the full version. I loved the full version. A lot. But I just can’t afford the full price. I wish there was a basic version with hi-res export. Just an stl. But no. I’m off to Fusion.

As an Onshape user, I have been really impressed with the ease of creating 3D images using this ground breaking app. It takes drawing construction to a new level! The developers have thought out the creation of this software very well. It is so easy to use and navigate on an iPad. I used to find using an iPad clunky and unproductive, compared to using a desktop pc, but this really changes things. As a person with some basic experience of Cad drawing programmes, this makes it so much easier for me to grasp an understanding of the different tools and processes, in creating a 3 dimensional part. In conclusion, this software programme is awesome and game changing! Well done developers!

I find this to be a great piece of software especially with the cloud based syncing between iPad and pc, I have 0 cad experience and find it extremely intuitive as well as the little instructional videos to get you started with the basics but… I am a 3D printer novice and cad beginner and while I find these features fantastic you cannot justify the £300 a year fee that would be fine if I was using this software to make real world applications and profiting from using such tools but why can you not do a one off licence fee for the hobbyist level and remove a few features like visualiser and such that a business would utilise?

This app is so jarring and so annoying to use that I nearly snapped my Apple Pencil in half like it’s ridiculous on how stupid this is to use and why it’s design like this and I’ve just seen other apps that much easier to use. So sorry for the bad review, but you’re just to complicated
