Sheet Music Scanner Reviews

Not impressed

Arebelami on

Canada

The instruments sound like autotune, certainly doesn’t sound like a trumpet, the scanner skips 1/2 notes for some reason and doesn’t recognize the rests. I love the idea but it needs more work. More real sounds and reads every thing on the page. I was trying to save $5 so I skipped the free trial. Pay the extra $5 and see if it suits your needs.

Worth it

Works exactly as advertised. Not gna lie wasnt expecting much - music apps are usually a let down. But they understood the assignment. I few more features like a tic beat to start or - mid song tempo change would be nice. But hey still good and worth the money

It sounded great in paper which would be enough to guess it costs money. It’s a subscription and if you use the free trial of no more than six days! You pay extra after all deals wear off.

Excellent App

Emjabuk on

This app is perfect for me as a beginner fiddle player. The notes are pitch perfect and I can adjust the speed as I progress in my learning of the song. It was important to get a good photo of the music and edit the photo to make it as crisp and bright so the app could scan it correctly and playing it back accurately. I also use it for choir practice and love that I can play my part as a solo or listen to all the parts together. Indispensable!

No ties

Plaidzy on

Overall this is a very good app, however it does not recognize ties, so I re-articulates notes when playing.

Use without having to pay?

How do I use this app without paying a subscription? I just need to use it and it keeps bringing me to the subscription page thing. Man, this kinda sucks

I couldn’t help my kid work on her music at home without this app!

My kid has to learn many songs for choir. I don’t play an instrument and would have no way of helping her at home without this tool. We scan all the songs she is learning and work on them this way. The single voice option is incredibly helpful with this. I wish I was able to add many pictures from the photo album at once. I also wish I had the option of selecting a single note to hear, without the app resuming “play” automatically.

Simple to use and (mostly) does what it says on the label

Love this app which has helped me discern my choir parts in practice sessions as I’m a poor sight reader. My one big wish is that one day it will single out individual SATB parts when the AI gets good enough. The best it can do presently is play single staves. So as a tenor, I always get the bass line played as well. Generally I can discriminate tenor from the bass. The same would be the case for soprano and alto on the treble clef. Altos especially might find it difficult to hear their part clearly against a strong soprano melody. Ideally you would like it to be able to turn down the volume on everything except your own part in order to hear that in context with the other voices (and perhaps piano, for example). But I guess this is the current state-of-the-art, which is much better than having nothing.

Thank you

Really enjoying the app. The app works as expected. A very quick way to get a snapshot of what the music sounds like. The choir voices are very helpful in understanding the voices within the musical piece that you are practicing. An indispensable tool. Very important, OCR is always difficult, better the scan, better the result. Like the idea you can import pictures and pdfs and then export in various music xml formats is magic. When exporting, using midi or xml expect to do some some editing to make your work look perfect.

Works great
