When I couldn’t find a title, the team quickly found it and replied to me. Thank you.
I don’t have as much time to read as I’d like, but Short Form has been a lifesaver. Their thorough analysis of each book provides better understanding and clarity, making it easier to grasp key concepts quickly. Highly recommended.
This should be a fantastic app and the summaries are comprehensive enough to make them really worth reading. However, on my iPhone I am completely unable to play any of the audio. I press the play button and it simply spins the wheel of thinking about it and never actually plays any audio regardless how strong my Internet connection is. I’ve raised this with Support and so far they have done nothing to resolve the problem.
I’ve tried multiple summarisation apps including the most popular ones. Shortform scores best by all metrics of comparison. More expensive but worth the price.
It’s a good app and the summaries are great. A couple of things that would really make a difference: - Offline reading mode (ie being able to download and read a summary when offline) - The listening feature is good but I use it in conjunction with just reading the summary. It would be good for both to remember where you are up to.
I signed up for a month and was billed for a year. They refused to refund. The summaries are repetitive and not actually that concise. They also insert vapid ideas from business management books into the middle of what you’re reading. They know you’ll want your money back but good luck getting out of it.
If you pay a subscription, they will automatically roll it over and will not send you advance notice at the end of the year. This is contrary to the practice recommended by the UK Advertising Standards Authority. This is a deliberate and underhand policy. I had forgotten I signed up cos didn’t use it - app clunky, content poor. Won’t make that mistake twice.
Lagging, frozen screen, stuck navigation, sub-par audio control, missing audio download feature. I suspected this app is built with cross platform tool (likely React Native) you should consider rewriting to a fully native that is closer to the machine and much more performant. The content is great, however the facility to consume the content is far from ideal …
Clunky…
