CH highlights/reviews now under membership view only
Love this app. I’ve had it since last year. I recently noticed that they revamped the app. While I like the look and organization of this new version, I’m super bummed I can’t see anything CH recommends, highlights, or reviews. You can only see it if you pay a membership. I’m truly bummed out about this because reading her input is what drew me to this app in the first place. Nothing wrong with wanting to charge for certain access, I busy wish that was still free.
Useless
All this app does is pair your skin up with expensive products. You’d be better off googling a few articles about skin.
Love love
This is fabulous! I’m loving being able to look at all the skincare and cosmetics that are suited to my needs. The only silly thing is that I’m from the USA so I wonder in the future if there’s a way to add a feature converting the pounds to the individual’s particular currency.
4 stars!
Hi! I am almost a teen and trying to keep acne under control. I was recommended the app by a family member, and I recommend this app to people as well. The articles from dermatologists are very helpful and I know I can trust this app. My only problem is that I wish there was more options for me to use of certain products. I know that the app may be filtered and directed for middle-aged woman, but it would be great if there were more options and recommendations for teens like me. Otherwise, this app is great and I will continue to build a routine with it!
Necessary for any skincare freaks
I absolutely adore this app. Not only can I create my own profile and get recommendations, I can save items I want to try, and use the app when shopping to remind myself what will/won’t work for my skin. It also gives amazing reviews of new products - where I can either get the short version (You Need/You Don’t Need) or the longer explanations, so I am not having to try things just because they are new. I think I use it now more than my other beauty shopping apps, or at least as much as because I am always comparing the two for shopping.
Change to USD?
Is there any way to change the currency?
The skin care app I’ve needed for years!!!
I’ve been playing around with this app for a couple hours now and I’m obsessed. I’m a long time Hirons fan and this app is exactly what I’d expect of her. There’s a ton no no sense skin care explanations, routine suggestions and product reviews. It makes it incredibly easy for me to look up skin care and get the info I need (namely ingredients, is it suitable for my skin type, and where does it go in my routine).
It lets me create lists of what I want and what I have and I’ve already caught a few products that I’ve been using that might be causing some of the skin issues I’m having (seriously why are ingredients so hard to find?)
The app also matches products to your skin concerns letting you know with a really visible tag if a product is likely to work for you. It makes browsing a bit faster.
I also really appreciate the reminders that skin care isn’t worth putting on your credit card and that there are options for your budget ( because I do frequently need that reminder 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️).
The only thing I can think of that I’d like to see added is an expanded routine feature that would let me sort my specific products into where they would go best in my routine so I can more easily see where gaps are. Possibly even with some recommendations based on skin concerns for where you might want to expand your routine (not even necessarily specific product recs but like hey you say you have dry skin have you considered adding some hyaluronic acid somewhere?).
That last one might be tricky because I do really love that this app despite all of the product info etc doesn’t feel even a little bit like it’s trying to sell you something. It just the super accessible and convenient and specific skin care info that I’ve been getting from Ms. Hirons for years now but conveniently packaged and all in one place :)
So yea, if you have even a passing interest in skin care you need this; it’s amazing!!!!
YES!
Do yourself a favor and download the app! It’s as if Ms. Hirons’ blog posts—which she’s been doing since, like, 2010?—got super organized and easily searchable and customizable. Yes, you can enter your info and track products you own and would like to buy. Yes, you can enter your skin concerns and look up products for those concerns. To the person who wrote “it’s too wide,” Ms. Hirons literally WROTE A BOOK listing skin concerns and specific products to treat those concerns. Love the book, love this app, love her! Thank you for such a well thought out, easy to use, FREE resource!
The ultimate skincare catalog!
I love this app and it’s founder! It’s a wonderful catalog of skincare plus amazing articles. Knowledge is power!
Too wide which makes it difficult to navigate.
Wish I understood why every product under the sun is added. I understand CH said neutrality but it’s not what I come to Caroline Hirons for. I’m looking for specific quality advice to circumvent wading through the mass of products I could find by googling. An app featuring all products Caroline recommends with who they are for and with the extra info given in the how tos would be so useful.
I would love to hear what the idea was for doing it this way.
