My preferred method of sharing photos with my family.
My sister and mother have the frames, and being able to send pictures of their granddaughter/niece has been fantastic for all of us. I am going to get a frame for myself as well soon, too. Thank you!!
Best Frame Ever
Our frame was a gift from my son and his family and I have to say that I enjoy it every single day. I get to enjoy pictures and videos of my granddaughter and see and hear the progress she is making as she grows. The Skylight frame is easy to use and edit. It is the best gift you can receive or give.
Good product/app. Lacking some functionality
Overall, I quite like this. I do wish you could search and filter the calendar. I have also run into a few bugs, but nothing crazy.
DO NOT BUY!!!
Horrible product that is not user friendly and customer service is terrible!!
Love this
I love this calendar, it’s so intuitive and helpful. My only wish is that the time and date was displayed when the screensaver was on! That would make it perfect.
It’s ok
So far out the door you can’t create albums and can’t really control the features much. So if you just want to have one image looping you can only have one image in your file. If more it cycles and you can’t control it to stop and play only one. You can’t fully modify the interface either. They just want you to up buy to the plus for a yearly payment. Maybe they should let me enjoy it and want to upgrade. For the price I’m thinking of just returning it.
Great App but I wish it had Widgets
The app works well and is user friendly. One thing I wish however is that they had widgets for it. Widgets have been a feature on iPhones for years and are a nice touch to a Home Screen when.
Calendar issues
We’ve been using the calendar to add meal plans for the week since we got the device. There is a new “feature” that you can pay for to add your weekly meal plan and the “FREE” version is duplicating entries and not working correctly. The app was not user friendly to begin with but every update makes me want to ditch Skylight altogether. Stop trying to force me to pay for monthly services that were included when I bought the device. It’s greedy and disappointing.
Calendar Review: A Communal Digital Device with Room for Improvement
The family calendar is a robust communal digital device that excels in simplicity and accessibility, even for children. Its ease of use stands out, making it a practical addition to any household. Unlike community calendars managed on iPads or personal devices, this hardware version fosters organic family gatherings in the morning, allowing everyone to refer to it without pulling out their phones.
However, while its hardware design is excellent, the software lacks compelling features. As a current subscriber to their monthly product, I am concerned about the company’s future if rapid development does not occur. Strategic partnerships could help build better add-ons. For example, the meal planning feature is underwhelming, especially when compared to the built-in chores functionality, which is much more compelling. Ideally, users should be able to import meals from other companies or email meal plans to themselves, similar to the photo feature.
Moreover, the photo feature needs more control options. While it can turn the calendar into a photo display, it detracts from the calendar’s primary function of being easily glanceable. A potential solution could be to allow photos to play for a set time before reverting to the calendar or to display a half-screen photo slideshow with the calendar on the other half, particularly useful in portrait mode. Touching the screen could then expand the calendar view.
Overall, the calendar’s strength lies in its ability to bring families together around a central, easy-to-use device. However, for continued success, the company needs to enhance its software offerings significantly.
Calendar is messing up inputs
I’ve had this app a few months. Now it’s deleting previously input appts on my Calendar, my meals are showing up for several different days even though it’s scheduled for 1. Same with my work appts, scheduled for one day and showing up for multiple days. I’ve been extremely frustrated the last few days trying to figure out my schedule. Please fix these glitches!
