Slay the Spire Reviews

One of the best games of all time

Over 200 hours so far and every run has been unique. It is very enjoyable to play on an iPad with the Apple Pencil but the mobile version is decent as well. Highly recommend this game.

Solid gameplay but needs optimisation

Amazing game. Love its mechanics. But it’s clearly a port of a pc game, UI has a little to be desired when using touch mechanics. Still works completely well, and isn’t terrible port as is.

Excellent game but for dainty fingers

Although the option of larger text is pre-ticked in the options, there is not much more you can do to change the fact this game was built for a PC screen. This is an incredible and deep game and in fact as card games go this blows away anything else in the market in terms of its depth, length, art style, everything! But it takes awhile to get a hang on the touch. I am sure one day the developers will perfect it, because it feels like this game would be at its best on a touch screen, but until then, be a little patient and you will have a blast.

One of the best strategy rogue-likes

I really can’t fault the core game as I’m spending copious of time in it, especially on iPad. But the touch controls really need a few touch ups. I’ll be posting my collection of feedback on the developers Discord once I’ve played a bit more and can be sure it is exhaustive. For example, to scan the cards in your hand and see their effects you have to start dragging your finger OFF the cards to either side and then drag over them. This was only discovered by accident, whereas it would be much more natural to just tap each one without the game thinking you’re trying to drag the card into play. Highly recommended in any case, and I’m looking forwards to the first patch.

great game, questionable controls

I’ve played and enjoyed Slay on Switch a great deal. However, the touch controls on iOS (I’m playing on iPad) leave a lot to be desired. It’s very difficult to select a card by tapping it; quite often the wrong one pops up for me. And while it seemed natural to me to touch a card and move my finger left and right to move between cards, it doesn’t actually work that way. I could probably adapt if I understood what the game expected of me, but so far no such luck. And really in this case it’s up to the software to accommodate the user, not the other way around. I’d happily pair a controller and use that instead, but that isn’t supported on iOS.

can’t open the game

Click the logo — game start — a spire picture appears — screen black and nothing happen. The same problem happen in PC, download from steam and never run successfully

Great game. Slightly below average UI

Runs well and the game is really good, but the UI needs to be optimised for phone screen sizes. Text is very small, buttons are small and selecting the cards in your hand is quite fiddly.

Great game

Works well on iPad, I think the UI needs to be adjusted for iPhone 11 Pro size however as the experience leaves much to be desired.

Constant Bugs

I’m tired of moving to the next Ascension and then the game not registering it. It has the run history that I completed the run history and the next level is unlocked. Except it’s not. This has happened close to 5 times now and I’m at level 16 ascension for the Silent and it took forever for me to finally beat 16 and to not have 17 unlocked even though it says I unlocked it in the run history is ridiculous. I’m not playing this game ever again.

Controller support pls
