The game is just as good as on PC, but the UI is simply bad. Time and time again I want to select a card, but accidentally return to the iPhone  Home Screen instead.

While the game itself is great the lack of support for the iOS version makes it a no buy. The 2.2 patch was released for PC back in November 2020. The iOS version was patched 9 months later. Patch 2.3 is still not available. To me this signals that there is big issues with lack of developers in the porting team or a publisher who does not care or both. This is not ok since they are still charging premium for the game.

There are also annoying UI features that needs to be looked over and changed for iOS. For example there is a problem that you are playing card by accident because of sticky cards when you try to minimize the app on a device with no home button.

The game is amazing but it must be pointed out how annoying it is to play with a UI that regularly causes you to make mistakes. Cards get played when I just mean to look at them, in certain situations when you have to select a card just scrolling through the list will cause you to select a card at random card (just because you touched it while scrolling) and sometimes rewards fail to be picked up because there’s no warning that they weren’t claimed. The game needs an undo button or improved UI - that would earn it five stars.

Three stars because it is one of my favourite games. But it has a bug where you are viewing a card and it won’t drop when you’re under the impression that you selected another card.

I messed up several runs for playing the wrong card, unacceptable.

And for a game like this, it’s so sad there is no form of cloud saving. If I could even sync it to my Dropbox or anything would already be something.

Really hope the devs will keep their promises!

I’ve played he game frequently on my iPad for a while, and now when i started it up the latest patch has completly broken the gaming experience for me. The map looks super clunky, the icons are huge and it’s really difficult to get an overview of the different paths.

During combat playing the cards feel a lot floatier and i keep second guessing myself when i pick a card and try and target an enemy.

The port is so terrible that i doubt there was any testing befor iOS release, in its current state the game is a ripoff. Dont buy, will update if it ever gets fixed but i doubt that....

I have more than 350 hours in the game and is almost done reaching Level 20 on all characters. This game was a solid 5 thanks to the mechanics and difficulty, you seldom get a challenge in games these days. With the latest update the game becomes significantly easier, and my +350 h of grinding feels useless. I was looking forward to fully complete this game for once, but the developers took the real joy out of that with the design decision to make the game easier just as I’m about to gain that gratification I’ve been chasing for years. I guess they want to reach a wider audience, and I don’t blame them. But you could have applied the changes to new games only. I own the game on both mobile and PC and I never write reviews, but this time I felt a need to truly express my disappointment. Especially since these updates comes so late in the development cycle. You should have focused on introducing another character instead, this game is now dead to me.

No cloud save still for the first update in a year. Google a bit and youll see that the developer of StS has said numerous times on twitter eg. that they are going to tell iOS developer of StS that cloud saving is a priority. Still, nothing. What a joke

I seriously can’t fathom why the touch interface is so bad, and I play on an iPad Pro. I seldom make mistakes in which card to play on the PC, but on iOS it happens all the time! I got so frustrated I had to remove the app. As with so many ports, the people making them seem to just be after a quick buck.

A great card based combat game that took a few tries to figure out.
 Then came the ascension levels, and now Im losing 9 of 10 tries, its the only game I play. I grind it day and night trying to beat yet another ascension. When not playing Im studying strategies. This game will ruin you. You have been warned

The game starts in 1 of 20 tries. It gets stuck on the starting screen and then crashes. There is no fix either online. Im on ios 13.6 iphone 7.

The fact that this port is allowed to stay like this for more than one week proves that this port is nothing but a quick and shameless cash grab. The original devs obviously don’t care and have just hired a company that did the absolute bare minimum. 

I love the actual game but playing it with this unbelievably bad card control is frustrating to say the least (whatever card you press is stickied and difficult to change if you want to choose another which ends up in misplays etc). 

Oh and there is no cross save between iOS devices so keep that in mind if you want to switch between an iPad and iPhone.

Been playing this game on pc for a while and love the game, no problem there

But there are some big problems with the app, the text is really small so it’s difficult to read on a phone. Also, the game crashes often on the last boss essentially making the game unplayable since i have to start over the encounter only to have it Crash again.

Waiting for a fix, when that happens it’s easily a 5 star game.

Agree with other reviewers points, the UI needs a change to suit mobile.

I love Slay the Spire, have almost 300 hours played on PC. So this is a 5 star game to me, and when they make the UI more mobile friendly I will update my review.

### ****- "Great game, port needs a bit of polish"
So the game is great. It is, after all, Slay the Spire!
It's deep, easy to learn, and very rewarding to play. 

The mobile port needs quite a bit of polish, however. 
The game crashes and exits to home screen at least a couple of times per run (iPhone 11). Not a deal breaker though, since saves are frequent, but battles have to be restarted. Annoying when it happens in boss fights. 
Selecting cards can be a bit iffy, as can getting descriptions of relics. It's clear that this is the PC experience at it's core, both in positive and negative aspects. 

Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful game, well worth the money, but it could be made less cumbersome.

It’s an amazing game. However, the optimization for mobile is a bit iffy. It’s clearly an exact replica of the computer version, which is almost fine. Id just like some bigger text and better mobile optimization in some areas!
