Since the latest update on the app, I cannot get into my account. My iPad has the latest update but the app keeps telling me to update the smile app, every time I press to update, it tells me that I need to update my iPad. I’m going round in circles trying to get into the app. I want to close my account as it is so awkward. It’s a shame, as I have enjoyed banking with smile in the past.

Worked great till recently

Over the weekend started to reject reference on payments so they were blank, removed and reinstalled the app and now can’t login at all but online all works fine.

Great when it works, but now can’t log in

My IPhone15 Pro was sent for a warranty repair recently so I logged out of the Smile banking app before sending it for repair. Once the phone was returned I find I now can’t login to use the app. After 3 calls to customer services and resetting my online account, I was then informed there’s a fault meaning people like me who’ve logged out can’t then log back in. There’s no news on when this will be fixed and I was told it could take some time. Please bear this in mind if you’re thinking of using Smile’s app for your banking, currently not reliable

Rubbish app

I’ve been with Smile for many years. Way before internet banking was popular. But the app is dreadful. It’s beyond basic. Even thinking about changing my bank to get a better service from an app

Worst banking app ever

Smile/coop bank are living in 2010 still. They promised for years an improved experience but it’s nonsense. And don’t imagine you can get through on the phone. Non existent support.

Compares very badly to other banks’ apps

DaveYoung4545 on

No ability to upload cheques through the app. No ability to search for past transactions. No ability to download statements to import to spreadsheets.

More features

App could give customers a few more important features: 1. block or temporarily suspend the use of cards 2. Allow card details to be seen from the app

Excellent Bank

I’ve been with Smile bank for more years than I care to remember which speaks volumes to how highly I rate them. Their banking system is simplicity itself, the banking app is superb and very user friendly and Smile customer service is exceptional. I would highly recommend Smile if you are looking for a good bank.
