Slow/glitchy photo upload speeds

I can’t understand why SmugMug wants to lose business but they seem intent on making their products worse with every update. This app was great but now just average at best and bad at times. Most helpful features are removed. It’s worth checking for other options with competitors.

every time i enter the app. i scroll on an album for a couple seconds and get kicked out. every single time.

12.14.24 SmugMug remains my service of choice for online photo hosting - the only one I have used for years. The iOS app functions well for sharing galleries on my phone. I still upload from my desktop. 1.23.17 Still not any real documentation. Confusing to me too know what is downloaded 10.30.16 Needs to be a way to keep images from selected galleries on device. Some of their blurbs imply that can be done but no documentation to help with use of app. Although a longtime smugmug user I find their iPhone stoop nearly useless. I prefer smugwallet with its easy ability to control what is kept on phone. I'd like it to have more of the functionality of the browser interface: the ability to move galleries, the avility to send smugmug email invites, etc.

App needs work on the bugs

The app is useful for moving photos from a phone, and viewing them…provided it works. The iOS app is quite buggy, and between crashes and recently no buttons in the app working, it’s a bit of a hassle for true management of photos. For serious work I always recommend the web interface on a desktop.

I’m sorry to say that I do not find this experience user-friendly.

I’ve had SmugMug for a year and kept it up to date. The app does not auto upload pictures from iOS and then claims, once a week, that 140ish pictures have been uploaded. I take hundreds of pictures a week and they are never upload. SmugMug is terrible.

Edit: Issued was updated with a fix fairly quickly! Since last update I can no longer upload videos from my phone even though it has permission to through my phone Smugmug website is amazing I LOVE it … The app does crash a decent amount and if it was only the app I wouldn’t be subscribed but love the web version so much … Other people viewing my galleries don’t seem to have as many issues with crashing as they only use the phone app

I wrote the below review years ago and ITS STILL NOT A FEATURE 🤯 PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO SET THE FOLDER & GALLERY FEATURE/COVER IMAGES IN THE APP SETTINGS!! How is this still not a thing?!? I always use the app to create galleries and upload, but I'm forced to also sign in to the web version to set the feature/cover images EVERY DARN TIME before I can send clients their final galleries. It's crazy how this is still not an option in the app. Total let down honestly. --- I have used SmugMug for over a decade and love it. The app is nice to have but has a critical feature missing that limits it mainly to a uploader/viewer for already created galleries. The main feature missing, and honestly can’t believe it’s still not an option, is the simple ability to set the folder/gallery feature image that displays the thumbnails. PLEASE add this simple setting to the app.
