You have to pay to get past the first 5 fights, and the game isn’t even complete
Not only does the game hide the fact that you have to pay money to play after the first few fights, but the game also hides the fact that it is incomplete as well. Once you’re about 9/10 done with the purchased section of the game, it tells you that it’s not finished and that you should join the discord server for updates. Don’t charge for incomplete things
Pleased!
What a great little game. Affordable and high quality. This is an excellent game for bust people who want to escape for a minute or two. Will buy from this developer in the future.
Only played to lev 4 so far
I can’t believe I didn’t see this game before. I think way too many games in the App Store not to have. Sure it’s not as polished as hearthstone and games like it put it he’s really well done. No pop-ups or timers or anything has bothered me you just get to enjoy the game at your own pace without having to pay constant money. Any game that is this good and respects me as a person deserves at least four stars. This game gets the extra star! I believe you gonna lock the full game for three dollars and it’s actually worth that so far.
Save your money
The other reviews are correct. This game is not balanced at all. The developer put a lot of thought into the story, the different types of game play and the price structure, but that’s where it ends. I love a good challenge but the game crosses the line between satisfyingly challenging and frustratingly demotivating at the hydra battle (L5) then becomes exponentially worse. I don’t mind having to play a board 4-5 times to win but when you play dozens of times and still can’t pass it just becomes an annoying chore- and yes I’ve adjusted my decks. Additionally there is no motivation to do other things in the game- you don’t earn loot from the job board, the stores empty quickly and you can’t build your deck, and there are very few cards to craft. The other types of game play add no value to your campaign progress so they are mostly a waste of time. I love the idea of the gauntlet but wish you could restart a single season after dying at her than restarting the entire game. Again-frustratingly demotivating. It would also be nice if you gained experience points here because you have to fight a lot of battles. The puzzles are easy to defeat quickly and not worth replaying. The arena is probably the most fun, but the game doesn’t maintain any record of past victories once you’ve lost 3 times so it loses appeal quickly, especially since you don’t earn anything. Overall great intention, beautiful design, awful execution.
Such a shame.
I bought this game because early on it is incredibly fun. But as you progress thru the campaign it becomes very difficult. Which would be fine except for the fact that it is super hard to get new cards. So you are forced to grind for hours to gain enough experience to gain a level and hope the cards are useful enough to get thru the roadblocks. This could be easily remedied by giving you more cards to buy with in game currency. I have plenty of money but nothing to spend it on... The other modes are separate from campaign so there is no relief there. After purchasing the game there is no micro transactions. So why make the game so frustrating? I would recommend saving your 3 bucks.
Endarian tomb
Great game.love the campaign mode.best card game ever easily.but I finished the endarian tomb with my 5th level fighter 2nd level mage also finished all the quests. In the tomb the story said I found a black pit in the ground but I can’t get down it.the story seems to end here does it? In the endarian tomb? There seemed to be a lot more to go. If so how to proceed? Thanks for any suggestions.i just want to keep questing. A huge fan.
Competent yet flawed
Pros: The different classes are thematically cool and distinct. Encounters are well-balanced.
Cons: There is no lower limit to deck size and no card randomness, which makes for very consistent, predictable deck performance. This is a BAD thing, because all of your games play out similarly which limits the depth of gameplay, makes the gameplay repetitive and severely cuts down on replayability. The game attempts to compensate by throwing encounters with wildly different starting conditions and circumstances at you which force you to tailor your deck to the encounter... but technically it’s a pain, since you need to remove all of the cards from your deck, then add the cards you need for the encounter, beat the encounter, then remove all of the cards in your deck again and then re-build your old deck, which is more tedious than doing your taxes.
All in all, it’s fun for a while, but some poor design choices lead to the game getting old and overstaying its welcome pretty quickly.
Great game, lacking content.
First of all: If you are looking for a card game that doesn’t require online play, this is probably a solid choice for you. I appreciate how dedicated this is to the single player experience when most card games are not. That being said, being an offline game means there are different gameplay issues you can have, and two big ones I have notice after playing this game for a long time.
1. This game is highly unbalanced. There are a range of cards that go from worthless to overpowered. While that is true is most card games, being offline means it doesn’t have to be fixed since there is no “competitive mode.”
2. There is a lack of content. As single player, it eventually just runs out of stuff to do. I do appreciate that developers are still updating, but I found myself finished with the main functions of the game much quicker than expected, which was disappointing for a paid game. The other modes beyond campaign offered no rewards or reason to play beyond trying to keep your attention which was also disappointing. Hoping to see more soon.
Single Player Dedication and a Fantastic Game!
This game has been an absolute blast to play daily. I want to thank the developers for creating a game focused on single player in the age of online only games. The gameplay is solid and the art is beautiful. Whenever you seem to hit a wall just edit your deck. You can come up with some really cool strategies this way. Please developers: continue to support and add to this game, even if it’s a premium pack. I was bummed when Hearthstone decided to not cater to the solo player. This is just as fun. One criticism is that the number of puzzle levels is really low. Some more of those would be nice. Thanks and great work!
