Stellar Sleep Reviews

Excellent sleep resource

This program is fantastic. My hope is that there will be added content for those of us who do shift work. This line of work makes it impossible to have the same bedtime and wake up time everyday. Would love to hear some suggestions.

Some things I wish could be improved on.

The app doesn’t enforce when I should be watching the videos, I didn’t know I was supposed to watch them. So I started a week later than I’m supposed to :( It would be better if the app reminds me that I need to watch those videos everyday. As well as, the program heavily recommends sleep restriction, because I can’t do sleep restriction, I felt left out watching the videos in the second week. I really want to try out sleep restriction, but I have a dog I need to walk everyday and I can’t do that on sleep restriction. I also need to study for my GED, I cant study if I restrict my sleep. It was stressful opting out of the sleep restriction program, but it was even more stressful seeing that the videos were centered around sleep restriction.

Saved my life

I’ve struggled with insomnia for awhile and nothing was working. Melatonin, sleeping pills and THC worked for awhile but stopped. I couldn’t fall asleep no matter what I took it and I was getting scared. I couldn’t sleep for days and even when I did sleep it was for maybe 4 hours. I finally went to my new doctor, I had switched doctors because the last one really didn’t address why I couldn’t sleep and prescribed meds that didn’t work, the new dr diagnosed me with anxiety due to being a caregiver for my husband fighting stage 4 cancer and was prescribed medication for anxiety and Temazepam for sleep, which usually worked, but I didn’t want to get addicted. The App works extremely well if you follow the program. It can be difficult but keep trying. You’ll get there. I’m still taking my anxiety meds but rarely need Temazepam. I highly recommend this app.

15 years of insomnia… cured in a month

This program saved my life. If you suffer from insomnia, the cost of this program is dirt cheap compared to the benefits. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try after not being able to find a CBT-I therapist in town, and became extremely desperate to sleep. I was also in regular therapy to address my problems with anxiety, so please know what most sleep issues are related to anxiety, but I needed the sleep restriction because I had developed a severe fear of my bed at some point and needed it addressed. This program was a life saver and I recommend it to everyone

About the app

Whyman Dee on

I think it’s been helpful but I feel it’s generic Not custom to me personally. When I started I was getting 0 hours of sleep every other night and the only reason I was even getting sleep every other night was because I was taking 100 mg of trazadone and other sleep aids. The only reason I’ve gotten sleep every night this week is because I’ve been taking trazadone with Nyqil 4 nights in a row. When I can sleep without drugs I could give a higher rating but I’m hopeful this app will get me there.

Combat Veteran Review

Yoda the Yoda on

I have been dealing with insomnia for years. The Veterans Affairs sleep doctor did something similar and the VA has a free application called CBT-I. The Stellar Sleep app is different because of the education piece. I remember thinking, “why is the VA doctor telling me to only allow myself to sleep in a 5.5 hour window”. I was frustrated with the guidance and only lasted two days. I’d rather just use every supplement known to man at this point. Stellar Sleep educates and explains things. It’s essentially automated therapy, but with great communication and tools (e.g. guided progressive meditation) that help. By the middle of the second week I stopped taking melatonin and about 10 other supplements. I would fall asleep quickly. I still struggled to sleep without waking up at 3am, but learned how to fall back asleep within ~10 minutes. The stress of waking up was no longer stressful. Now I’m a month in to the program and I don’t even do anything special to fall asleep if I wake up in the middle of the night. I just fall asleep again. The key to this program is commitment to yourself and achieving what you want out of getting better sleep. If you are ready to apply some work to your habits and learn some things to sleep better, get this app. It is well worth the money.

So far it’s stuff you probably know already but it’s still worth it

carlsbadjunior on

Go to bed and wake up at the same time. Don’t stay in bed more than 20 minutes at a time. It’s stuff you’ve probably already heard. But it does provide some much needed structure and helps you track your progress. It’s also nice to have someone acknowledge your sleeping difficulties even if it’s only a cartoon owl. The big kicker for me was the epiphany I had that I shouldn’t use my meds to go to bed whenever I want but take them at the same time every day. You can probably piecemeal together your own strategy but for me at $200 a year it might be worth it. I don’t think $200 for 3 months is a very good deal. So don’t accept that offer if you can get a better one. Full disclosure I’m only 1 week into the program so I don’t know what gems might show up later.

Amazing

prenaidl on

Been struggling with 2-4am wake ups for over 4 years. Two weeks in and the pattern is significantly different. The app is well worth the price and could probably be triple the price and still be worth it. The knowledge and practical education will last a life time. There is a ton of misconception out there about sleep and this app seems to set a lot of records straight. Thank you!

The modules were spot on in helping me to understand why I was suffering from insomnia. The recommended solutions were very effective. I saw improved sleep in the first week of use. Well worth the price.
