Stryd

I love Stryd, but lately I’ve had trouble syncing with my Garmin Connect. My watch has the data, my Garmin Connect has the data, but it doesn’t sync to Stryd. Most runs do, but some don’t. It’s very frustrating.

I can’t say enough about how much I love my Stryd after 2 months of use. The device itself is small, neat and simple. Battery life is awesome (weeks). The big news is how much running with power has transformed my running. I’m a keen recreational runner and can hold a heart rate (or pace). But I had no idea how much there is to gain by holding a power level. Slow up the hills, fast back down them. My times have improved significantly while my effort is whatever I want it to be (just choose the power). The run time estimates are scary accurate. And I’ve learnt to trust the recommended power levels (if I want to hit a PR) - run at the recommended power level and I’ll still be OK at the other end! To top it off the apps (iPhone, Apple Watch, web) are brilliant. They look great, are easy to use and have hugely detailed analytics. My only initial complaint was that the watch app didn’t support always on display, but that was fixed in a big recent update. Oh and Stryd’s customer support is excellent: they’ve been very happy to answer all my dumb questions. Just brilliant.

Game changer

I reckon this is by far now the best combo of gear and software. It beats hands down Garmin Connect and TrainingPeaks. It would be awesome if Stryd developed their own watch.

Having run with Stryd for several years, the improvements to both the app and Power Center have been substantial. This is a company that has had great hardware from the off and is now backing it up with meaningful, easily interpreted software features.

A few runs in and the Stryd has been game changing. I’ve been running for many years and have never been so consistent throughout the duration of a run. Can’t wait to keep moving forward with Stryd.

Stryd is an awesome piece of equipment, calling it a footpod is an insult to this piece of sophisticated but simple to use equipment. How it does what it does, knows what it knows and calculates like it does is totally beyond me. It is 100% accurate out of the box which sadly made 99% of my previous running times incorrect as I was using gps and a Garmin Fenix 5 with Garmin footpod outside and a treadmill inside, I discovered due to my Stryd the treadmill speed was 17% incorrect. Running with power is excellent, knowing your power is excellent but also knowing leg spring stiffness, running stress, vertical oscillation, and critical power is fantastic. The app is great, the web based power Centre is great. I would never give up my Stryd. Well done Stryd team on this piece of science I clip onto my laces 😃👍

The device itself... superb The support from its developers and staff superb (especially in Facebook group) The app is regularly updated which is great, but the website version IS better. Understandable given the additional stuff you can do in web design versus app design.

Has problems syncing to Garmin calendar. First it sent duplicates. Now it is sending nothing at all.
