Simple reason, since the major overhaul a few months ago, the app is horrendous. An app that used to make sense and feel intuitive is now terrible as a user experience. Dev team should be upgraded.

Can no longer read offline and it doesn’t remember where or what you were reading after a simple app switch (it reloads almost every time I reopen it - this doesn’t happen to any other app on my phone)

Makes me create an account to view the whole story, but yet if I go to the website I can get the full article. Deleting the app, going to nzherald.

Usual left wing sponsored media organisation influenced mostly by opinionated pieces, the woke and spin doctors of the real estate industry. Take the actual news from it and leave the rest. And a Heavily harshed comments section.

Hard to believe this app is still so bad after so long. Someone should be losing their job over this one.

This app just keeps getting worse. It’s more and more bloated with advertising, doesn’t scroll properly on an iPhone and keeps jumping back to the top. Hard to think of a worse app.

I didn’t know it was possible to have such a widely used app be so poorly designed. Every time I leave an article it glitches and requires the app to be restarted. So incredibly frustrating.

Ad intrusive, lost zooming facility, clunky, below par reporting and wok ( we live in New Zealand ) makes it a rubbish app.

This news app loads so badly, refreshes while you’re reading/looking and then teases you with click bait headlines and nags you to log in. Useless, almost no news without logging in.
