Used a couple times now, receiving payments takes ages after payment is received from customers, spending more time checking the account to see if it’s gone through and still hasn’t. Opted in for the business account for faster transfers stating you will get the money within 1 day, it’s been 48 hours and I still haven’t received the funds, from £400 they have taken £10 so I am only receiving £390, over a course of a year they will take a ridiculous amount of funds through fees with is daylight robbery. I will not be using this gadget again.
One of the worst customers support service they have. I am trying to contact to solve my issue since more than 3 weeks but un experienced staff and lack of response every time. Even cannot solve one minor issues. Not recommended ever. Worst Customers Support Services. So any of your issue would never be solved stay away
Great app for small businesses
Sum up is great in principle. Unfortunately the software is unreliable. Auto updates frequently make things worse, with no option to reverse. Silly comments on screen like the transaction MAY have gone through (what do you think the customer will do? Payment never goes through). Quite a few outages that customer support do not mention. I wish they would sort all this out, because SumUp is potentially great.
I've recently started a regular craft market stall and a month in another stallholder showed me their Sumup and its functions. I had to get one! It was so easy to set up - took me less than 10 mins. Some have said the (written) instructions were inadequate, TBH I didn't need them. First I downloaded the Sumup app and it talked me through setup. I didn't need the Sumup bank account, so just linked with with my own. Then I did the £1 transaction using my debit card, which went through easily (confirmed debit showing on my bank account), and this will take 2-3 days to appear as a credit from Sumup. Done! Hope this helps, but if not there will be videos on YouTube.
Other banks are better than this. Sent 516 to my account with SumUp and they closed it. Seeing it’s coming from my other account in MY NAME, anyways it’s closed I have 2 pounds left, please help me to send my previous 2.16 pounds. U won’t let you guys steal it.
UK banks will treat each payment as a “cash like transaction” and charge you a fee (Barclaycard charged me £2.99 per transaction). Contacted SumUp and they clearly couldn’t care less They said it wasn’t their problem. I’ve seen other posts saying same thing (e.g. Nat West). Completely useless app as a result!
I love the app easy to use but some payments stopped working but managed to fix it
Brilliant card reader. Been using for a couple of years now. My only issue is with account information on the screen is visible for all employees to see. I caught one of my employees going through my transaction. Not cool!
