Retronyms has partnered with industry giants like Akai Professional and Arturia to create some of the Tabletop-Ready Apps, like iMPC, iMini, and iProphet! Using the Tabletop features of time stretching and pitch shifting, you can slice loops and time stretch them to different tempos and pitches in iMPC Pro. You can also use sliced loops from purchased AudioCopy sound packs inside Gridlock and iMPC Pro. Loops from these sound packs will automatically match the tempo of your sessions.
Tabletop is an audio playground where you can create beats, compose songs, mix live, make mashups with samples from your iPod library, and more... the possibilities are endless. Plug the output of a keyboard into a delay to add an echo, or wire it up to a mixer and adjust the pan. Chain up multiple effects to create new and evolving sounds.

Tabletop Reviews

Makes no sense

This app makes no sense in light of Inter Audio App and Audiobus. Clumsy interface.

Amazing app

Real-world use for a great piece of hardware.

I bought all of the add-ons to support the developers of this amazing app. Please keep working on it, updating, adding features.

Worst music app I've bought so far

pbolg on

The tabletop approach sounds nice, add modules to create a sort of virtual home studio. The reality, though, is that the basic app includes a very basic sample player and a cruddy preset only synth (and some "free apps" like an audio output - very generous!). To get anything further you need to buy more modules. On the strength of the included ones I wouldn't bother. This app is on sale for 99c. I don't think it's a very good buy for that, and for what I paid it's a total rip off. There aren't many apps that I've bought and then deleted, but this is one of them.

It's all made out of in app purchases

There's not a lot useful here until you pony up some serious bucks for all the good kit. I won't be doing that.

Literally useless

Nomadxoxo on

App crashes every time I load it. Can’t even get past the initial splash screen. They just updated the app and it still won’t open. Contacted customer support, no reply. This environment looks so cool but I guess I’ll never know what it’s actually like saying it doesn’t even open. -5 stars

Doesn’t work anymore

Used to be great!

IMPC63 on

I couldn’t give this app a rating because it doesn’t deserve one! I’ve had an iPad before along with tabletop one of my most used apps, and now that I have another one I can’t do any of the stuff I used to do. Wow! I would make it free also.

My apologies, I overestimated the app’s calibre and potential

Project: Punk Mayhem (Farabi) on

Sorry, some how I felt, even though having this much power, it lacked clarity and coherence. It seems a bit hazardous! Apologies, had high hopes! Truly I did ! Deleted.

App is broken, will not open

S-BLK on

United States

I have done everything you can to reset my devices as far as using this app and it will not open. screen loads for about 5 seconds and then crashes. closes and goes back to home screen. however the app remains “open” and will not go away without uninstall.
