Tape It: Voice Memos Recorder

First thing happening was that my Apple ID and corresponding email address was read out and I was requested to insert my Passcode. Eventually arriving at a "record" button. No input gain adjustment. How can this be for musicians? Stopping a recording, the captured data can be assumed to be in some cloud storage. No question about the wished file name or folder and no saving to a self controlled storage without first having agreed on a pricey subscription. There appears provided some feature which I din't find in similar apps: recording directly from the Lock Screen, which indeed is interesting for spontaneous recording. However, for the current subscription fees (summer 2023) I did not make use of the trial period for testing how recording would work in the rehearsal room without internet connection, after it looks as if all recordings are first stored online on the Tape It server space and can only afterwards be exported from there to some local location. Maybe someone can share experience about this. [edited after developer response on my first review].

trimming is only available for $30/year. its crucial missing element that makes the voice memo app a better option for now. fix this!

Intuitive and powerful field recorder. Makes it fast and unobtrusive to capture high quality stereo audio. Amazing customer support, too. Highly recommended.

I’ve been using voice memos everyday to record musical ideas and getting more and more annoyed until I found this app. So much easier to use and start recording! Way more organization features too, which is important when you have 400+ recordings to sort through. The free version is also great, has everything you need to get started. Thank you devs helping me make more music!

The lock screen widget doesn’t exist as advertised, could be latest iOS issue idk but buyer beware—bought the lifetime version foolishly to see if it was a pro feature lol nope it just isn’t there.

In the middle of a great recording, I was prompted to review the app… which stopped my recording. They get so much right in this app though. I wish there was a record button visible at all times while navigating.

Nice app but the description is misleading. $100 is a fairly steep price no?

The description of the app makes it sound like a great app, but if I want to pause my recording session instead of completely stopping, it doesn't seem like I can do that. Is there a reason why this might be? I record a lot of my kids concerts and I can't seem to find a recording app that records in stereo and be able to pause. A pause recording feature would be super cool!

I use an Audient Evo interface with stereo mics to record my practice sessions on my grand piano. This app is exactly what I need in order to capture quality sound with minimal setup and one easy button. Even though the app is not specifically formatted for the iPad Pro, it's well worth the annual subscription price to be able to plug in, verify my sound source (including stereo channels), and hit record. Being able to trim, add markers, and access in the cloud is also useful. This app has everything I need and nothing I don't. I'm glad I found it.

So, in my opinion I was looking to make beats, and all that. My main problem was I couldn’t find a app that has FREE beats to make. And it’s kinda annoying. But I thought this app had free to make beats, and I can just upload my voice, but that’s kinda frustrating. I wanted to make a whole song for free, but I didn’t get to because it’s not free just to make beats :(. It is a great app, but if your looking to make beats, and stuff for free, consider.
