Great!

Not just for music industry folks. Great recording app and the premium version is great (but not needed if you want free). Note to devs: the search within the App Store is tough with this. I had to fully type out the entire app name before Apple would populate it.

Amazing!!

Okay… wow.. I’ve never reviewed an app before, but this one earned it. I heard about this app on my favourite podcast, Tape Notes, and figured it was worth a try. Without having too much expectation that this app would break me out of my reliance on Voice Memos I downloaded it and I am absolutely blown away. The features are incredible! All of a sudden I have everything organized and even have notes, images, and section markers to go along with my audio clips. Unbelievable app, truly is going to be a game changer. I absolutely love the note section as well, but my one suggestion would be to include a “lyric section”. I’ve been writing my lyrics in the notes, but it would be awesome to use the notes for chords, further ideas, musings, etc. and have a dedicated spot to put lyrics as well. But that’s a very minor thing (they’ve already replaced my voice memos app and I’m just gunning for my notes app to go next 😅), what this app is already doing is unreal. And I only have the free version. Absolutely incredible product you guys! Thank you so much!!!

Finally! Something to replace Music Memos

I was very disappointed when Apple discontinued Music Memos. I used it quite a bit, and voice memos did not offer me an experience geared towards musicians. I recently found Tape It after reading an online post about it, and I love it. It’s not the same as Music Memos, so you have to adjust your organization process to use Mixtapes, but once you have that down, you’ll find that this is a superior product with the ability to add notes, identify the instrument, annotate points in songs, and categorize music using what they call Mixtapes. They have a lot more coming too, so I am happy to have stumbled on this excellent app.
