TapeACall Reviews

Quality

I was hesitant but the audio quality was surprisingly good. I work at a radio station and I'll use this app instead of our phone lines from here on for interviews.

Can’t Record Call

Not Working3 on

United States

This app is not really a 5/5. I rated it that way because I want the truth posted. Today, 1/22/25, The call button options (outgoing call, incoming call…) do not populate. Therefore, I cannot use the app with a paid subscription. App support is a joke. If the product is worth the cost why isn’t there a phone number for assistance!

Devastation

iamanitarenee on

I previously LOVED this app and I was a subscriber. I would pay the annual fee. Well, the fee jumped so high so I decided not to renew. Unfortunately, when you do that, you don’t have access to your previously recorded calls. I have calls dating back from 2020. I have NO access to. This is so devastating. I would of loved to renew but I could not afford that annaul fee of $79.

I have an active account that will not allow me to open the app or retrieve my recorded messages. My subscription renews tomorrow, but I have not been able to open the app for over 2 weeks. I’m upset that I don’t have my recorded messages. The app doesn’t even try to open. I used this app several times a week, but all it does is show me a black screen with the target symbol in the middle and that is it. I would like to renew my subscription, but it doesn’t work any longer. So why would I renew it? I need help!

Deleted my review

Having to write another review since my last one got deleted. I’ve used, and paid, this app for about 5 years. It was pretty good given all the shady businesses out there. So the $29.99/yr felt worth it. But this company has become one of those very shady businesses after an acquisition that definitely, as usual, did not help the customer. They’ve already increased the cost of the app at least twice. I’ve seen it at $79.99/yr and now it’s $99.99/yr. I’d venture to guess they’re already hiking up the prices, again, to account for their terrible business practices costing them loads of customers. And onto the app itself. Like I said, it was pretty good. It usually worked, most of the time. My biggest qualm was that you had to download each individual recording alone, there was no option to download multiple recordings at once. This meant sending a single public url to your email for each recording, and then downloading it, or downloading it to Dropbox or Files. The latter often didn’t work. Now that I stopped paying, I can’t even get into the app, at all, to access any old recordings. Unless I maybe the minimum monthly subscription fee and there’s zero guarantee I’d be able to access old recordings. Fortunately, I predicted this and have my most important ones backed up externally. Now with Apple’s latest update, albeit clunky, they do have the ability to record calls to the notes app so just ditch this garbage app.

i wish i never downloaded this app.. canceled my subscription 2 days before the trial ended and they still tried to charge me. my card was locked. whenever i try to download an app it prompts me to pay the subscription fee before i continue. so now, i cannot download any app in the app store until i pay the 7.99 fee for a service i don’t want.
