Packed with a variety of useful features, the App lets you easily register your Tech-Air® 5 Airbag System and monitor its status and battery life, as well as track details of your ride. The App uses Bluetooth Connectivity to access the System’s data. Via the MyRide function, riders can record location and speed continuously during a ride. Relive your ride and visualize your average and top speeds at any point along the route and zooming in on the map. MyRide gives motorcyclists the ability to record unlimited motorcycle rides and build up a complete library of individual journeys, so you can easily retrace your trips and remember the great riding moments.
How it Works
• See top stats for the ride – including the exact location where these results were achieved, average speed, journey time and distance covered.
• Retrace each journey on an enhanced Google Map that shows your speed at any point you select along the trip.
• Build up a fascinating library of each ride you take on your bike.
• Disable the Tech-Air® System, when you’re going to start doing heavy off-road riding.
• Verify the deployment of the Tech-Air® System after an accident.
• Send feedback to the Alpinestars Tech-Air® development team.
• Update the System’s firmware whenever available.
• Download online manual and useful documentation, for air travel, shipments, and servicing.
• Register your products.

Tech FAQ
Is Tech free?
Yes, Tech is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Tech legit?
⚠️ The Tech app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
The app does not work with Tech-air 10
You will not be able to detect the vest.
After spending several hours trying to get it working, I was advices by my local dealer, this is a know problem.
Why sell a vest and then have it not work as advertised?
I’m advised we need to await an update.
Terrible
I was concerned when the manual said that updates would be by app rather than by PC software as these things are always badly implemented, and this is no exception.
The jacket disconnects from the app constantly, when I try and install an update it just gets to 1 or 2% and says battery low and fails despite being fully charged (and new). Nothing wrong with the battery - I just did a 5 hour ride and didn’t loose a light.
Have reset my phone, tried a different phone, checked the location settings and reset most of the settings on my phone, nope!
Currently on day 3 of trying to install a software update. I like the airbag a lot, but this app is a dumpster fire. They definitely got the hard part right and the easy part wrong here.
App works fine
If your having trouble with the app make sure you have blue tooth turned on plus location.
I found if location is off the app won’t connect.
Useless App
Unable to pair or update firmware. Unable to do anything.
Cannot pair with vest
I am unable to see the systems that I have paired but the ap continually says system already added. I cannot see them anywhere though in my tech air systems.
Buggy
App is so inconsistent, can’t even set up the Tech Air 5. Says that the system is added but will not show the system in the app, it just continues to try and scan another system. I tried redownloading as others have mentioned, but then my device was blocked due to unusual activity. I’m not sure if they blew the budget on R&D and just gave up on the actual app interface that we interact with. But I will reiterate what others have said, $800 is a lot to spend for a air bag that has an app that can hardly support it. Hopefully we see some improvements with the roll out of the Tech Air Off-road.
Update Issues
Nothing but problems trying to update the suits firmware, concerned that suit is not going to do the job if needed. Never had these issues with Dainese suit with integrated airbag.
Went with the Tech Air 10 for the body coverage but just like the Tech Air 5 it’s a bug ridden mess and I’m not confident it will deploy.
I’ll be moving to the Dainese slim vest and wear it under an Alpinestars suit.
Error 12…
Fails to update the software on the airbag vest
Always fails to update vest software. I am literally holding the phone to to the vest. Both, the vest and wled batteries are fully charged and plugged. Tech air 10
Great vest, but the app is mediocre and disappointing…
I had a similar problem as some of the other reviewers. I couldn’t install the firmware update until deleting and reinstalling the app onto my phone. Then it worked perfectly fine, took about six or seven minutes to install the update. I am still disappointed with the app and confused, because none of my rides display acceleration or top speed. The display looks totally different too I h ave to slide and swipe right swipe left to view my rides whereas in the video online there’s a list of them beneath. I am a bit disappointed, I thought I would be able to view my lane angle as well, and that doesn’t seem possible either, unless it’s available in race mode or something (I’ve only use street mode so far). I’ve read elsewhere online that as long as the vests LED lights follow the start up procedure in the manual, and that the green LED is lit afterwards, the bag is armed and ready to provide protection; so you don’t really need the app to work perfectly. But yes, after having spent over $800 on this thing, it is a disappointing experience. I don’t even know what kind of data is going into the phone from my vest – it could just be using my phones tracking and location to record my ride just like any other GPS. It’s not telling me anything I couldn’t learn from some other GPS app. But I do love the vest itself, but this review is not about the vest!
Not user friendly
App lacks feedback for many functions and has poor user interface. Terrible
