Cardo Connect

Interconnectivity between units in the Cardo Freecomm 4x drops-out every third word. Paid $829 Australian for system that only allows me to listen to music and take phonecalls. The two things I do not want to do when riding with my mates.

Easily the worst decision was spending $829 Australian on this thing. Playing music is fine. Connecting to the second unit is another matter all together. Drops out every three words. The after sale service is non existent! I contacted the Cardo Rep in Sydney who after having my units for two weeks for testing, just palmed me off and told me it’s because of “bad mobile reception” No joke! He said that. I e tried everything from resetting the units back to factory settings to updating the software. Biggest piece of garbage I’ve spent my money on.

Can do much better app experience is poor

After riding is the rain for the first time , the supposedly waterproof unit will not charge. Not good enough.

Music isn’t loud enough but you can get deafening volumes from Siri and Beeps just pressing the buttons! The default volume must be more appropriate for all features! Currently it’s all over the place! Oh that’s right, plus the battery life on the older device used to get me a couple of weeks and now that the new one has settled I’m lucky to get a week of m-f use. Basically 7 hours use! Very poor!!! Also, looking at the lame responses here by the Cardo reps who are asking us to provide details and raise the issues separately. What a lame attempt at pretending you care! Take the issues and raise them with the Dev teams yourselves and provide a response here so we can see how little effort you put in to not fixing anything!!!

To be honest I’m not impressed, playing my music is fine but when it comes to comms I can’t even connect with two other riders who also have Cardo systems. I have the Pactalk Neo, beginning to wish I hadn’t bothered.

Firstly, I had to set voice command recognition sensitivity to low, otherwise radio would randomly keep turning on. Secondly, no matter how hard I try, something will deafen me, being so much louder than current music or intercom levels, such as google maps voice or an incoming phone call ringing. Thirdly, changing music volume levels via the phone has no effect on music (apple music, audible) volume levels, changing music volume levels in the app also has no effect. Music volume only changes when intercom volume changes. Changing the slider on the unit only changes the intercom volume slider, which also appears to be what is actually used for music volume despite there being an independent music volume slider. There is mo way to set an overall volume restriction. These issues have been present since October when I received my unit and still present today in April.

To hard to work out how to pair 2,3or 4 riders when you about to go for a ride your all excited and have not got the brain space to make it all work .. I would prefer an external switch that you can place on 1,2,3 or 4 and the other riders match the number.

Purchased silver as it stated music sharing, then discovered it wouldn’t share without Bluetooth, upgraded to the gold package, the app isn’t registering the gold status nor is it letting me use Bluetooth or music share. Do not recommend.
