The introduction is ableist in its instruction - the only option given is to sit up straight. This is not possible for millions of us. No consideration of chronic pain sufferers either - instructions to investigate all the bodily sensations as they come and go. For those in constant pain - focusing on the breath at any point is hard enough - to be constantly drawn back to the screaming alarm of pain and reminded that it never leaves, is very distressing. Turned to this app for help… The intros and instructions in one of the one offs I heard was so much more inclusive. So it can be done with just a little consideration. The introduction is a big barrier. Include diversity in your leadership and this won’t happen.

I’ve tried various meditation apps over the years - for me none have been as good as ten percent happier. There is so much invaluable information and content whatever the issue you will find something that guides you through. Rich in wisdom and diverse in style the meditation teachers are all excellent, some exceptional. These voices have become like dear friends to turn to in times of difficulty, joy, challenge or celebration. Ten percent happier - yes.

“I’ve spent months exploring various meditation retreats, from Vipassana to Osho, TM, and mindfulness. Despite these efforts, I consistently found myself quitting these methods after only a few weeks, mainly due to boredom and a lack of tangible results. However, my experience with the 10% Happier app has been a game changer. I’ve now surpassed my personal record by meditating for six weeks straight, averaging 80 minutes a day. The experience has been filled with an ever-growing sense of curiosity and excitement. I’m gaining valuable insights on managing emotions, thoughts, and patterns. What I particularly appreciate about this app is how Dan Harris addresses the questions that I, too, often have but tend to overlook or dismiss as unimportant. His approach has helped me realize that these questions are crucial for a deeper understanding of meditation and its impact. This newfound realization is what makes all the difference for me.

I paid for this before my free trial was up, it’s fantastic. However, the only annoying thing I’ve discovered is that the walking meditation keeps pausing, which defeats the point of mindful walking as I’m constantly checking my phone! If not for that I’d give 5 stars.
