Every time I close the app but do not sign out I am asked to sign in when opening again after the page that asks if I accept or decline data being collected to monitor bugs etc. Well there’s one for you right there. As an aside to the above a debit was applied to my autopay account on a day when I did not use my vehicle. It was a grey driving school CAR with a different number plate to my blue VAN which is registered. It appears that Artificially Intelligent systems are balanced out by Artificially Stupid ones (guess which version TfL use). Just as well I had the account as I could have received a penalty notice. My payment card will be debited until sorted out as it takes 10 days to look at a photo.
It works but it’s very basic
No issues with the feature that I use and that’s Auto Pay. What I do have issue with is lack of information as to when the supposed payment charge was triggered and lack of images.
It seems to me that the customers might want to verify that the charge is just and there are no mistakes. It is my experience where a mistake in reading the registration would implicate my car where pictures provided on penalty would point to completely different make and model.
Let’s start with date, time and type of charge. Then we can consider automatic upload of relevant imaging. Please.
Rubbish
Tried to set up an account and the app failed to complete on both occasions (I tried two separate email addresses because it failed on the first). The first time I didn’t receive the email and I could not find a way to get the app to resend it. The second time with another email address the email arrived but when I clicked the link, it took me to a TfL address r site which said the validation had failed. Life is way too short to deal with this rubbish.
Embarassing for whoever created this app
Not only are you required to put in the same information several times, and to provide highly inappropriate personal details (Why the hell do you need to know my mother’s maiden name and my place of birth in order to pay a toll??). Even after going through this nonsense there is no normally acceptable payment method such as Applepay or PayPal etc. I have needed to pay 4 times and was required to go through the entire moronic process in full each time.
Why not set up the automated version then? I hear you ask. Great question - the answer being that after 4 attempts (on phone and laptop) and the process finishing with failure in 2 different ways - I gave up.
Sort this embarrassing pile of rubbish out. London deserves better!
The only reason to download this is to pay con penalty charges
The website didn’t work to pay a pcn. The app barely worked. If the choice is there, go to another big city, Edinburgh is hassle free compared to tfL
Painful to set up.
Why is it so difficult to set up such a simple app while it is so easy elsewhere doing things which are much more complicated. Pretty poor. Disappointed.
Scum
Khan the scummy little rat expanding the ulez so that all visitors to Chessington world of adventures has to pass a camera to enter the park. I didn’t realise this and have now had to pay a fine through this app after taking my kids for a day out. I’m ashamed of what the once great Uk has become. Government SCUM
Terrible. One job - does not do it
Does not check whether your vehicle has actually entered a ULEZ zone… before saying you need to pay. Ridiculous. Paid (when not even in a ULEZ zone, near Weybridge). Unable to refund. Still not fully sure I have paid. Terrible.
Thieving robbing scum
Thieving robbing stealth tax scum
Top contender for the worst app ever
Where to start? No payment method storage, no user detail storage, no Apple wallet or Apple Pay, and with an IOS update, any relevant details such as customer ID.
