Gameplay
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the randomly generated action RPG shooter that started the new roguelike era. Following Isaac on his journey, players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form, giving him superhuman abilities and enabling him to battle droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.

This game is a total blast, and infinitely replayable. It’s everything a modern rogue-like should be. 

However, the iOS version has some bugs that undermine some of the excellence of the game. Some examples: 

(1) The D Infinity is an absolutely fantastic item that is completely ruined by the touch-screen controls — there’s simply no way to use its switching feature unless you use an external controller. 

(2) Items that require double-tap inputs to use are very nearly unusable with the touch controls — they pretty much activate at random. 

(3) Certain temporary effects (like Holy Mantle and Book of Belial) simply… deactivate if you pause out of the game — and if you’re playing on your phone, all it takes is an unexpected phone call to force a pause. This can be run-ruining for certain characters. 

Issue (3) has persisted since before Afterbirth was released on iOS; it seems like the iOS version devs don’t really give this game much attention.

I use my backbone so its 100% amazing to have on my phone but without it ONLY using mobile controls it sucks, the mobile controls are so bad. Needs Repentance + PLEASE

### **--- "Controls limit the game’s diverse playability"
I have almost a thousand hours in binding of isaac on PC, so taking it everywhere is a perfect opportunity, but the moving joystick makes it impossible to play especially while on any sort of transportation. The ability to connect a controller helps this, but the standalone should have a joystick lock setting so that it stays in place when it appears. If you have to have external hardware to make the movement viable then it’s not a great system.

Honestly can’t say enough I’ve only been playing for a few days going onto a week but I can’t stop playing it’s so good. Every run is unique and different letting you experience a new run every time with each character also changing how you play with tons of secrets to discover. It’s a lot to learn but a ton of fun to learn. Loved it so much I got it for my pc during the current steam sale just a great game with the dlc being a little pricy with the price of 40$ along side the games price is steep but the dlc also adds so much more content that’s it’s basically a new game on its own. Only get the dlc if you love the game and just want more than you’ll get so much more main back your money in game time.

I am a mega fan of the binding of isaac so i was so happy to find out that a mobile version existed. It’s just what i wanted but the joysticks suck. Reference enter the gungeons mobile version, they use joysticks without any issues but the joysticks in this have many issues.
