Sunforge Update - Thumbs Down

BullDogDay on

The problem with Dawncasters is the fix problems that aren’t broken. I liked that sunforge let you turn on random restarts on the draft. I loved sunforge that way. They decided I am not important by making the game their way after YEARS having random seeded news apply to sunforge. I deleted the game and regretted paying money for it. Thanks for the downgrade…

Best ever

I’ve played hundreds of card games and a few rogue like and I really enjoy this game to the fullest glad I spent money on it with the dlcs and supporting the creators if you have time and money do download this game

Amazing Game

Robninja_taco on

I love this game, and can’t stop playing it. I will say that ever since the recent Sunforge update my game will lag or freeze occasionally (I’m on iPhone XR), but I’m sure these performance issues will either be patched or I’ll upgrade my device eventually, and they in no way make the game unplayable. Can’t wait to branch out into the DLC and see what future updates there will be to this terrific and engrossing deck builder!

Why????

Five Stars Blazing Great!!

I love deckbuilders, and for me, this is the very best one on mobile. The overarching reason is its unparalleled degree of meaningful player choice. The six well-defined classes play very differently, and within each, multiple distinct build types can succeed. In most games you choose your class, your starting deck is set, and you go. In Dawncaster, after choosing your class, you pick from a multitude of weapons that can provide run-defining advantages. You then select (from many choices) a special starting card, giving your deck power right from the jump. You can select which of various card sets will be available in y our run — all of them, if you want. And then you get to pick your starting zone. So before your run even begins, you have a tremendous amount of freedom at hand. Or, if you prefer, you can leave some or all of these random. That is a stunning level of respect for the player. During the run, the choices continue. You must beat the area boss to proceed to the next zone, and fulfill certain conditions for the boss to appear. But other than that, your journey through each zone is up to you. There will be shrines to improve your cards, campfires to rest at, merchants to buy from, NPCs to ally with, events offering unique and powerful propositions — and you can engage these or not, at will. Except for the boss fights, you are never forced into a particular encounter in order to continue. The sense of immersion and impact are ground breaking. The combat is satisfying, the synergies sublime. With the plethora of special abilities you can choose to accrue, no two runs are ever the same. And the devs are phenomenal too — frequent updates, great expansions, highly responsive on the Discord. The game just keeps getting better. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. If you like deckbuilders at all, getting Dawncaster is a no brainer. You will be pleasantly surprised 😲

Master piece

The only game that I’m continue to pay over 500 hours besides night of the full moon. 10/10 I would donate more if possible for the development and continue expansion of this game

Absolutely amazing

I’ve been playing Dawncaster for over 2 years now, and I’m still finding new and exciting combos every day. It’s hands down the best deck-building game out there, better than Slay the Spire, Monster Train and all the other big names in the genre (in my humble opinion, of course). Dawncaster was designed specifically for mobile, so it doesn’t feel like a clunky PC port. The pricing model is incredibly fair and player-friendly. All cards are available in the base game, and while the DLC adds some nice variety, it’s totally optional. The developers are super friendly and active in the community, and they keep rolling out new content. If you’re into deck-builders, you need to try this game.

Blown away

I have spent so much time playing this. Worth every single penny. The DLC has been fun. I’ve gifted this to a few friends as well now. So much fun ♥️

Fateshards

glitchyassgamee on

Why in the world are Fateshards so frustratingly tedious to collect? I don't want to have to dedicate my run to completing some obscure, random challenge (that are honestly RNG-based most of the time) so I can actually unlock the weapons I want. We should be getting at least 50% more Fateshards per run, this game is way, way too grindy for a pay-to-play mobile game. I get that certain weapons are meant to take dedication to earn, but certain playstyles don't come online until you unlock certain weapons and talents. It makes for a frustrating experience, earning cool cards that are practically useless until I complete 10+ more runs and unlock certain weapons/talents/abilities.

The best offline card based game
