Why are there still annoying ads for subscribers???
I feel like I’m reading a trashy website with all the distracting ads placed throughout the article. Not going to read on mobile.

Drains battery at about 2% per minute on my iphone. Nice app, but unusable.
There are pop ups that I can’t get around or dismiss so I can’t read the story I’m laying to read as a subscriber. It is infuriating.
I recently started a digital subscription. Downloaded this app as it is supposed to be the “new” app for the Boston Globe. I was surprised once I opened the app that I was presented with very few articles that were not representative of the day’s print paper. The next morning I received multiple emails from different sections of the Globe with links to articles that would open in the app but appeared nowhere in the app menus. This is a terrible experience and readers should not have to sift through lists of daily emails to find an article to read. I have already unsubscribed from the emails and reverted to the older e-paper app.
It’s just not a very well constructed app. For a paper like the Globe, it deserves to be better.
1st complaint: leaving an article and then returning to it - either to look something up or to pause and come back later - always drops back to the beginning of the article rather than the previous place read. Truly frustrating to have to scroll back to find your place, especially as I tend to read articles in bits and pieces as I find time throughout my day. 2nd complaint: ads click far too easily. I frequently accidentally click ads as I scroll through an article. I know you’ve got to pay the bills but they are an absolute imposition.
You can’t cancel or pause your subscription from the app you have to call during business hours. Why. Just make a button. You’re not going to compete with tweeter with this kind of behavior
It is so much harder to use the Globe app than it used to be. If an article starts on one page and finishes in another you have to manually find the continuation, rather than following a link. You can open the article, which then makes it continuous, but if you try scrolling, that way you get the same article over and over again. The worst part is that moving ads appear every paragraph or so. It makes it almost impossible to read in the reader mode. I pay a lot of money to subscribe. I should NOT have to contend with ads. I guess it’s time to cancel - bye!
The app used to take me to top of the article when I click on upper corner. When I click back it takes me back to home page if I read an article for too long. Disappointing as NYT, WSJ don’t. And Globe is a paper that I never share with non-subscribers as I can only share 1 free article within 90 days period.
Boston Globe continues with it biased reporting.
