Constant interruption to rate the app

This app interrupts incessantly begging for a rating and a review.

Exquisite. From the quality of writing to the functionality of the app and the view of the daily paper. With a wide spectrum of stories and topics, this little Texan is gaining insight into east coast happenings and culture. I also received an incredible deal for being a new member. Loud applause for this paper. I love the app and The Boston Globe.

Good app but… no video journalism / op-docs like others

The app isn’t optimized for video storytelling and documentary shorts / op docs like NYT or even the Seattle Times. I feel like the Boston Globe used to do short doc-style video journalism creating videos about the people or happenings in the community. Now their video content is seemingly just a TV studio show with a news anchor that streams through the app. I have no interest to watch that. The spotlight series ‘Gladiator’ podcast on AH was incredible, I was so hooked and really enjoyed the perspectives of the journalist that did the BTS but since then I feel like it’s gone downhill. If the Globe reinvested in video journalism and op-docs, it would surely engage viewership resulting in more revenue. Just my two cents.

Doesn’t Stay on Article

The update has made the app better, but there is still room for improvement. When you’re reading an article and then move to another app and come back to the BG, it puts you back on either the main feed or the beginning of the article as opposed to the spot of the article where you left it. Sometimes I like to look something up while reading an article and it’s annoying to have to find my place again if I leave the app. Please consider fixing this.

Can’t get today’s e-paper without a struggle

I turn on the iPad every morning and open the Globe app, only to see yesterday’s e-paper, even after switching to and refreshing the home page. I have to open the separate e-paper app, wait a couple of minutes, and hope it gets today’s. It usually but not always does. Then I return to this Globe app, which is easier to browse the e-paper in, and it usually, but not always, gets today’s edition. Really? If you delivered yesterday’s paper to my driveway every morning, would you be proud of your delivery service?

Poor layout / user experience

The Boston Globe has never done well on digital…. The paper website, Boston.com and all prior iterations of the paper’s app have left me wanting for a a much better experience with the paper I’ve read all my life. I;’m almost better off waiting for delivery of the paper… but then again getting the Sunday paper at 9 a.m. when the day’s half over.

Political Bias

Globe generally is unbalanced in their reporting and editorial content leaning way to progressive left …there is need for more factual, unbiased reporting.

Frustrating POOR Navigation

No one who updated this app has ever read a story until the end. I like the new layout and pages load quickly but I read a lot of stories/columns until the end. Then I want to go back but there’s no quick way. Instead I have to scroll all the way back to top of story to navigate back to home. Sure I could swipe left but I may not want to read that story. Frustrating. Hope you fix it soon!
