The Journey Down FAQ
Is The Journey Down free?
The Journey Down is not free (it costs 4.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is The Journey Down legit?
🤔 The The Journey Down app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I’ve watched the intro about 10 times by now and as soon as it gets to the dock with the plane it won’t let me click or do anything, nor does it progress the scene. The lights go dark and nothing else changes (except the music keeps playing). Then when I restart the app I have to watch the intro scene all over again just to have the same issue. Frustrating to pay for something and not be able to play it. Save your money.
Just incredible
This is genuinely one of the best video games I’ve ever played. I recently redownloaded it and it’s even better than I remembered almost 10 years later. Chapter 1 is a little short, but it still is practically incomparable with modern games. It’s immersive, funny, innovative, and very smartly written. Quite literally, every single aspect of the game is important to the story and is involved in some way with the plot. I wish more people knew about this game, I couldn’t rate it any higher!

Buy this!
Charming, beautiful, fun and just difficult enough so you won’t get frustrated. This is a perfect PnC adventure and all 3 parts are available to play. Give at least the first Chapter a try - you will be hooked.
Way fun!
A great tale, engaging characters, a masterpiece. Each part supersedes the prior in plot depth, complexity, and graphical excellence. The music is quality, and the mood is driven well by the characters. Indie at its best!
Excellent!
Loved every minute of it!
Great fun and peaceful
This game is fun and due to music and art, remarkably peaceful. Game very reminiscent of early 90s leisure suit Larry, and monkey island, yet very original. Buying the sequel now.
About an hour of gameplay
The graphics, programming, and gameplay controls are stellar and feel polished. For $5 there are many better options, though.
The voice acting is far below par. I’d love to see these guys hire professional voice actors to enhance the gameplay. The main character and the low level criminals were well voiced. The rest of the characters sound as if they had friends record voices through cheap mics.
The dialog was below par, too. Some parts were hard to listen to without cringing and never should have made production.
The reason I won’t buy the other two is the length. It’s short. Really short. I had no issue starting and finishing it within an hour and a half, while getting stuck on a couple puzzles and exploring everything on every screen. I’d imagine the next two chapters are 40% more expensive and the same length.
Most enjoyable!!!
What a great trilogy! Funny, great music and voice overs, great graphics. Not a single glitch. I did not want to get to the end. Puzzles are challenging but not frustrating. Keep them coming!
Wonderful and fun game, but too short
Top quality adventure game in the likes of classics such as grim fandango. But too short, i feel it should have had more content for the price.
