The Journey Down: Chapter One

Great game. Easy but you need to think.

... that this game turns up as the only search result for "grim fandango" in the App Store. It's a good game but for a lucasarts fan the puzzles are too easy. Nice soundtrack and voice-overs (even if I personally can't stand reggae and the over-affected accent-stuff but that's just a taste thing) great plot, plus it was free. I didn't come across any other point-and-click/tap adventure game for iOS that would have come even close to the atmosphere of this and now I'm thinking about buying the sequel, cause it's fun to play with. (Ah okay and because in some way it does remind me of "Grim Fandango") Oh and unlike other adventure games, this will run smoothly on a 4s without crashing all the time.. A bit harder puzzles and it gains the fifth star too.

Really good puzzle game with brilliant environment, nice soundtrack and a lot of fun!! Must have!

I’ve watched the intro about 10 times by now and as soon as it gets to the dock with the plane it won’t let me click or do anything, nor does it progress the scene. The lights go dark and nothing else changes (except the music keeps playing). Then when I restart the app I have to watch the intro scene all over again just to have the same issue. Frustrating to pay for something and not be able to play it. Save your money.

This is genuinely one of the best video games I’ve ever played. I recently redownloaded it and it’s even better than I remembered almost 10 years later. Chapter 1 is a little short, but it still is practically incomparable with modern games. It’s immersive, funny, innovative, and very smartly written. Quite literally, every single aspect of the game is important to the story and is involved in some way with the plot. I wish more people knew about this game, I couldn’t rate it any higher!
