Thinkorswim: Trade Reviews

More issues now under Schwab

TheNotoriousDRJ on

United States

Thinkorswim was a fantastic mobile application when TD Ameritrade owned it. Now that it’s under Schwab, I am logged out randomly, and the app takes forever to load even if I am using a strong Wi-Fi signal. Considering that time is of the essence when trading, these hiccups will cost you money if you’re managing positions on the go. I don’t know what changes Schwab made, but it makes me sad that what was my favorite trading platform is now basically a total loser.

App doesn't work on iPhone

The app doesn't work on iPhone devices as expected You can open the app and set username and password then not responding and crushing and it will kick you out After all updates it's still not working on IPHONE

Garbage

nutella_98 on

Cannot login with guest pass. Nothing besides spinning cursor. Not even a message. You’d think Charles Schwab would be capable of more besides a spinning cursor. My guest pass works on my Mac, but even there I had to get help from Google because it stuck on “updating” forever. What a mess. I keep finding reviews that day traders don’t like this platform. Well. No wonder.

Stay away from Schwab, if you value your money

Terrible app. Its not comparable to Ameritrade. It’s still got so many flaws and a lot of delays. Sometimes you can’t login in app for an hour!!!

Great app

Please please please fix the sorting watchlist issue. Every time you open the app the watchlist is sorted weird. Make it remember the sort you pick.

Not sure why everyone thinks it’s so good

First off, the charts are trash, basically unusable and not user friendly in the least. The info shown on securities held is good and you can customize it, layout is a bit too much, too much having to move the screen around and press drop downs (that are super small touch areas), etc. I’m a moderate day trader and I find the app hard to work with. It’s bad enough that I use Webull for everything (watch lists, charts, news, etc.) and then come place the trade on ToS. There are times where I have to hard close the app and reopen it because the information showing is inaccurate (like if you wait hours before looking at the app again, or overnight), almost cost me a bit of money. It has a lot of potential though. Could be great if they let the users run the show rather than the programmers. But I expect Schwab will only make it worse, like the time we all got forced over to Schwab and then got locked out of our accounts for two days? Wasn’t that fun you guys?

Schwab is definitely sinking this ship

slow loading app, tickets, quotes incorrect buying power actually made it less intuitive to send orders through, requiring MORE clicks and menus to change to GTC same for alerts, extra clicks its like they are not intelligent enough to understand the power of this app, AND too stingy to shell out the costs to maintain such a powerful app. these clowns really have no idea what TOS is about.

Crashes frequently

Schwab support are in denial that there are issues ☹️

Misleading

Siggie1990 on

United States

Prices are very inconsistent. TOS will apply very random prices that are not accurate to the assets in my portfolio. if there is ANY spread it displays extremely incorrect prices that are much higher than than the real price. it will tell you it’s worth 20 but when you try to sell its only been worth 3 the whole time. I’m giving a one star review because it is exhausting having to calculate everything manually and write it down on paper to keep track of my actual liquidity. And isn’t it illegal to display false prices? Change it to show accurate prices - it is not convenient at all having to send buy/sell orders to test what the actual prices are every time I want to do something. SMDH.

Not ready for usage

Bubbaulgy on

I have 2 stocks not reporting correctly and after an over an hour on the phone no help On hold most of the time and their best guess was to wait 24 hours to see if it fixes itself All the money and time spent on this app has not panned out. Why dose a multimillion dollar corporate company fail to make an app work when the old td ameritrade app worked just fine I guess I will have to look for another broker
