The TKTS Discount Booths have become an international destination for theatre lovers from the United States and around the world since 1973. There are two locations in New York City:
(1) Times Square – Broadway and 47th Street, Manhattan - "under the red steps";
(2) Lincoln Center – in the David Rubenstein Atrium at 61 West 62nd Street;

The Official TKTS app is offered exclusively by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, which operates the TKTS Discount Booths.

Great app

Fantastic discount seats. Rush always worth it. But always check the original company to see if cheaper as sometimes they add a markup.

What about London?

Downloaded the app before I realised it was only NY. Crap!

Don't waste your time, pre book a show, staff are rude and stupid.

So we started queuing at 2pm ahead of the shows being announced at 2:45pm and the tickets going on sale at 3pm. When the shows were announced, there was nothing available that you would consider broadway, no Chicago, no Aladdin, no School of Rock, and no Wicked. What was left was small scale off broadway shows, and I'm told this is a regular occurrence. We decided to stay in line and thought let's choose a random show, you never know it might be amazing. After getting to the front of the queue (you choose 1 of 8 booths) at roughly 3:30pm, we were behind a guy who had been given the wrong tickets by the ticket lady. To process a refund she needed to speak to her supervisor. Now, instead of waiting for her supervisor to come down whilst still serving other customers, this ignorant, stupid lady decided to down tools and stand away from the booth waiting for her supervisor. After waiting another hour (!!!), whilst everyone else was still getting served she finally came back, gave the guy a refund, processed his correct tickets this time and then it was our turn. Now being this stupid, ignorant lady she blunted told us that nothing was available with 2 seats together because a lot of shows were sold out. I very abruptly told her it was because we had to wait an additional hour because of her! Safe to say we didn't buy tickets and I would highly recommend to avoid using this service.

Are you kidding me?

I downloaded this app because it says it provides information about Broadway theatre tickets. While London coverage would be nice, this app does not claim to offer that, so how can you criticise it so heavily on that basis? Say I want to bang in some nails so I go to the shop to buy a hammer. The shop doesn't have any hammers. Do I buy a screwdriver then complain to the shopkeeper that the screwdriver doesn't work on nails? No, I look elsewhere for the thing I actually want. Anyway, this app is good. Would have been ideal when I was in NYC last February and will be used again the next time I'm there. Hopefully it will be expanded to cover London too.

Great for visits to Broadway in New York...but could we please include the Leicester Square booth in the West End in a future update?
